  2. I just logged on here to see if NSBB had such a forum. So I'm in favor of it. Not that anyone this time of year would be looking to unload their tickets for anything short of a king's ransom. But if they are, I want to come up for one of the precious few remaining weekend games!
  3. I think he's the hands-down winner of the ROY, regardless of what the Braves announcers might say about Jurrgens. But MVP? Maybe if he got to 25 and 100.
  4. Splendid post, my good sir. Hup-hup. I agree. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but I think Kosuke and Lee are going to pick it up and hopefully carry this team through the stretch of road games in September. He's a professional and I think he'll get it done.

I've just gotten back into playing this summer after about 10 years. Was pretty good when I was in high school. It's harder now, ten years on. Imagine that. Anyway, I'm terrified of playing in these scrambles and other work-related things because I don't want to embarass myself. I don't even like going when I know courses will be busy because I don't like people (I don't know) watching. Played yesterday and it was really enjoyable because we weren't forced or waiting on groups ahead of us. And managed to play well. Got a couple of pars, which for me is good.
  6. On the Cards post-game the yapping heads agreed that Volquez was not trying to hit Lohse. OTOH, Lohse's intent was pretty clear. TLR is old school about beanballs, but I think Lohse did this one on his own. Guess you don't need to be told to retaliate when you're the one who gets the bowtie.
  7. Nice of Chippy to plug Santo for HOF during a discussion of Jason Johnson and his insulin regulator. Johnson is doing a nice job retiring middle of Brewers order.
  8. Meat of the order coming up for MIL in the 8th. 6 more outs for 5 1/2 game lead!
  9. An exception is made when Texas has home games in the heat of the summer. Since conditions can be so horrible in Arlington, they allow them to play night games even on Sunday. Gotcha. Thanks. Manny made it 5-1 with a single and then got thrown out at second trying to make it a double. Nasty slide, but Hall seemed to be a good sport about it. If he would have slid directly to the bag he probably would have been safe.
  10. Anyone know if there is some reason for having two night games tonight?
  11. LOL at Hart chasing after the ball after another ill-advised dive.
  12. WTF was Braun doing on that one? He looks worse than Sori out there. But he did catch it.
  13. Weeks left the game with what is being called a thumb injury. Double for Berroa off the wall in bottom of 6th, now 2nd and 3rd with one out. Braun probably wouldn't have caught that but he did look pretty lost out there.
  14. LLF, game is at 7:05pm, no? Regardless, let's just keep the train moving. No b.s., just win.
  15. Hah, that was my first year watching the team. I actually liked that rotation for some reason. I was a fan of Kevin Foster and Castillo. Navarro was solid with us, too. I don't remember much about Bullinger other than he had huge ears. Trachsel was dominant in 1996, if nothing else. He was very good in 1994, 1996, and 1998. He was horrible in 1995, 1997, and 1999. Watched the WGN Cubs docu "Cubs Forever" today and was reminded that Trachsel took a no-no deep into the one-game playoff in 1998. Seems like a lot more than 10 years ago. On the topic, I can't handle worrying about Z right now. He's gonna be fine.
  16. Suppan is starting to get hit hard again. Here comes Manny.
  17. Fielder GIDP with two on in 5th. Still 3-1 Dodgers.
  18. Seems like we are having this conversation a lot lately, whether it's okay to expect a series sweep. I expect the Cubs to go 5-1 against CIN and WSH.
  19. That was great work by Kershaw. I really don't want to sit here and watch this whole game, so I hope the Dodgers can put up a few more big numbers.
  20. Alrighty, Cubs won, Cards lost 7-3 and Brewers are down 3-0 in the second. Help us out, LA, and let's take back a 5.5 game lead.
  21. W!!!!!!!!!!! Great road trip, enjoy the day off guys and let's get back to the home cookin'!
  22. Are the fans singing before the game is over?
  23. Jacobs with the collar! Nice work Cotts. Just keep throwing strikes.
