    We were due for a stinker. Couldn't watch because I'm out of town but it looks like we still outshot them. Did we outplay them overall? No, not at all. The SOG were a lot of long range shots with no traffic in front. Slow to every loose puck. No crisp passing. Save for a stretch in the second, the Jets totally dominated. They played a very physical game. Buff was hammering guys left and right. They were impressive.

    I think I'll just stay away until the playoffs. Yeesh. One of those nights I guess.

    First Hawks home game for me since the 2010 miracle against Nashville tonight. And get to see Buff, Ladd and (I guess) Frolik as a bonus.

    Won three of my four leagues, but lost the final in the league with my closest friends and the most [expletive] talk by eight points last night when Peyton [expletive] the bed and J. Thomas did nothing. Can't really complain about the best fantasy season I've ever had or ever will have though.

    Glad I went against my own gut and swapped in Lamar Miller for Fred Jackson. But still, have work to do. Won one title. In my second league, need 28 from Peyton and J. Thomas. And in third, need 10 from D. Thomas (with PPR). Seems like all that should happen.

    Was anyone else even thinking about hiring the dude? How was he not a complete, bounced ten feet in front of the plate curveball?

    They are as entertaining as they always were, but I get weary of the constant stupid calls and them making fun and then laughing.

    I haven't listened to B&B in awhile. Two questions. First, are the callers always this stupid? And second, are B&B always so out and out hostile to them?

    Lovie needed to be fired, but at least with Lovie the Bears were a professional, competent organization. Not spectacular, not going to win championships. But not laughingstocks. That shouldn't be the standard, of course. Emery must be held accountable for the Trestman hiring. Simple as that.

    Doesn't matter what he says. If he does it between now and Sunday the only interpretation anybody will make is that he did it because of Cutler. If he does it Monday morning after a loss he's probably in the clear. Fair enough. Monday is cool. Sooner the better.

    I'm sure the convenient answer is either 1- The whole organizational flow of command thing Or 2- too close to game day to make a change Either is BS. It puts Emery unequivocally on Cutler's side, and therefore dependent on Cutler specifically for his future. And it does completely negate the concept of the structure. If he fires Trestman specifically for benching Cutler that is in direct opposition to his statement about who gets to make what decisions. And that would put in doubt his ability to hire the best coach available next month. If Emery fires guys for benching players, he loses credibility. He could have and should have fired Trestman weeks ago if he wanted to do it at all. Okay but at this point he could fire him for any number of reasons. He wouldn't of course say it was specifically because he benched Cutler for specious reasons.

    I don't understand. Everyone seems to agree that Trestman benching Jay is about Trestman either saving his own ass or taking a shot at the organization. Either way, there's no suggestion it's best for the team. So why isn't he fired now? Like right now.

    Trestman knows he and his whole staff are gone in a few weeks. So he doesn't care about any attention this stunt will draw. It's clearly not about winning games, and regardless of what is going on, that should be his stated (and actual) goal. Even if I hope they lose this games and move up the draft board. Those two shitty wins against shitty (more shitty than us) teams awhile back are going to sting on draft day.

    Yeah that was my big thing, make sure I had Dalton in case I need to make a switch on Monday. Which is very unlikely but didn't want to get boned there.
