Nashville looks like they will be tough to catch. Setting up another first round meeting with the Blues. The only question is which team will have home ice advantage. This is what I hate about the new playoff format, the Hawks and Blues could finish 2nd and 3rd in the conference and have to play each other in the first round. I think that was kind of the idea- to build rivalries by having the same teams play each other every year. I remember when they used to do this back in the 80's and 90's. I just don't like it as much as I did back then. I know what you mean. Rivalries have to be organic and should be in flux. The Hawks rivalry with Vancouver, for example. Agree, those couple years were great and certainly live on with the fans, though really, it's just Burrows there now that we have a fight with.

I have to say, this ASG was a joke. Maybe it's always been that way and I just didn't pay attention, but the game needs to go away if that's what it's going to be. Skills competition is still fun to watch except for the stupid breakaway contest where they do stupid stuff.

And look who was there sacrificing himself again. I hope it works out that Hammer is able to stay and fill that role for the next 10 years. I feel like he will go down as one of those guys who will be beloved by the fan base long after he retires despite not being a hall of famer or even a star.

You missed a really good game. I made it the first two periods, and same thing. Saw the Facebook photo and did a double take, though it was just 4-3 when I crashed. Will keep an eye on the STL-NSH game tonight. Both teams played last night, so probably not a fair representation of the competition. But still, should be a good game. Never been happier to have Nashville with a decent, offensive-minded coach. Sure they are a tougher team to beat, but at least those six games aren't a total snooze.

I'm sure that's not true, but at least it's something of a no-lose situation for the new coach. He's not going to be blamed if Cutler is [expletive] again, and then he can be cut loose and that coach's leash gets a little longer while they bring in and groom someone else. -
We were due for a stinker. Couldn't watch because I'm out of town but it looks like we still outshot them. Did we outplay them overall? tweets from the beat made it seem like they were very sloppy, especially early. The first period was a dumpster fire.

I need to watch the first two this week. I feel like this is lazy analysis but seems like they played with channeled emotion on Sunday but just had nothing left last night.
