  1. Oh look, Vancouver wants to play rough.
  2. Well that sucked. Just one of those bounces.
  3. That was a bad goal given up by Luongo. At first it looked like Seabrook was in close, but that went right through his legs.
  4. OHHHHHHH SEABROOK! HOLY [expletive]!
  5. I think that anthem singer is wearing his funeral suit.
  6. Do you happen to know what station (not channel number) the Hawks game is on? I'm assuming they'd do the opposite here and put the philly boston game on another channel (VS switched to the Hawks with 38 secs left in that game). I have comcast, so your channel number won't matter just the name of the station Oh it's a Versus Alternate channel. That's what they called it. I thought the announcer said at the end of the 3rd period of the Philly game that for Chicago folks they weren't cutting over. But that can't be right.
  7. Oh nevermind, I'm an idiot. Channel 604. Can't believe I spent all that time rooting for Philadelphia.
  8. [expletive] you Boston. [expletive] you.
  9. I can just tell these sorry, boring pricks are going to go to OT.
  10. Obviously doesn't apply to you, but in Chicago I think they put it on another channel until the game is over. Yeah I figured they would accomodate you lucky folks. And of course Boston just tied it.
  11. This Boston-Philly game better not go to OT. It will be absolutely [expletive] if they don't/can't show the first part of the Hawks game.
  12. I dunno...refs don't like being told what to call. And it seems like in general the refs in the playoffs have let the teams play...I haven't seen much ticky-tack stuff called. I have to disagree with this, and Todd McClellan's working (over) of the refs in the SJ-DET series is a prime example. He was all over them early in the series and Game 3 was a debacle because of it. I think they are influenced by this sort of thing, and I expect them to crack down tonight.
  13. Which is easy for them to do since it did not impact the outcome of the game at all. Perhaps it can be argued that Vancouver took their foot off the gas and just resorted to the goonery once it became a three-goal lead, but the Canucks themselves won't be making that argument, so it's a moot point.
  14. Yeah, and playing in front of that home crowd could hurt them. Especially if they get down a goal or two early. They will be squeezing the sawdust, er, aluminum, out of those sticks.
  15. Well, I think it's in every team's game plan to crowd the net. It's just a matter of focusing on it and showing the willingness to take the beating in there. So I don't think it will be them playing a "different" game. So far the sisters and Burrows and the rest of their very-easy-to-hate team just haven't been willing to do what they need to do. Assuming they finally do show that effort, which they probably will (because as you said, they will be desperate), it's on the defense to play nasty in the crease.
  16. Luongo wants me to like him with this Slap Shot-esque quote. From a Vancouver Sun piece today:
  17. Sassone notes this and I've seen it a few other places -- vows from the Canucks to get into Niemi's kitchen. http://blogs.dailyherald.com/node/4012 I heard some talk on NHL Radio yesterday (my new favorite station, by the way) that Game 3 was close to devolving into a riot at times. I didn't really see that, but if there is no regard for the keepers on either end and this game gets out of hand (which is to say if the Hawks open up a big lead late), I could see a line brawl happening. Let's just hope Burish and Eager are out there when it happens. Can't wait for this one. Sucks it's not until 8:30, though I guess it will allow for a few hours of after-work drinking. That's what I need to do though, watch this one with a buzz. Will already be nervous enough.
  18. If there was any doubt, it can be put to rest. Rick Morrissey is an idiot. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/morrissey/2242002,CST-SPT-morrissey06.article Yes, Rick, in a series that has tilted in favor of the Hawks far more than the 2-1 lead indicates, let's give the Canucks a reason to get fired up.
  19. ^Having only seen the play once, I thought it should have been disallowed and Buff should have gotten a minor for goalie interference. He wasn't pushed. But that's the way it goes.
  20. Not that it probably matters to most people, but that's a columnist, not their game coverage. Angry journalist...but I suppose you're right. Either way, that's pretty funny. But go ahead and whine, Vancouver. I hope the nucks read those articles and are in a whiny mindset tomorrow night.
  21. Missed the game on account of flying back from Vancouver (the one in Washington, not Luuu-sertown), but watched in fast-forward last night. What else can be said -- Buff is a maniac when he gives max effort. Thankfully, his head is screwed on straight right now and he's going insane. I was listening to Sirius 208 this morning (don't know what the station is called, but it's basically 24/7 NHL talk) and they were talking about Buff and people probably wondering where that effort level was all season. The other fellow on the show said if he played like that every night, he'd be dead. Fair point. I don't want to get carried away with optimism, but just like the Canucks were playing with house money in game 2, the Hawks are now. But the way game 2 went down changed everything. So, Hawks, listen up. Win game 4. But if you are going to lose, don't do it in heartbreaking fashion. Got it? Good.
  22. If Leitch wasn't a Cards fan I might not have been trying to read so much into that.
  23. Apparently being a [expletive] runs in the Kesler family. http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/04/canucks-kesler-hawks-fans-harassed-parents.html Maybe your parents just didn't want to see Ladd whip your ass again.
  24. I agree, it's very promising that they can get up and dust themselves off. But I just have this nagging feeling that this is how it will end. Maybe not in this series, but I worry that their spurts of lackluster play will put them in a hole too deep at some point. That said, even if they lose the next two in Vancouver, of course I won't feel like it's over.
