  1. Alrighty, win tonight and it's time for some: http://nfhlvancouvercanucks.files.wordpress.com/2008/06/canucks_logo-golf.jpg But first things first, the CW has to be that Nashville is deflated and/or crushed about how Saturday's game went down. I hope the Hawks don't believe any of that tonight, even if it's probably true, and step on their necks tonight.
  2. Excellent. Though he better keep his head up tomorrow night. Especially if the Hawks have a couple-goal lead near the end of the game. hossa seems like a slightly dirty, but not overly nasty player. he's probably had his share of people come after him, he'll know what to do. I agree with the first part of that and I hope you're right about the second part. And since Hamhuis wasn't really hurt, I doubt he'll get it too bad as long as the game stays close. But please, please let's finish these guys off tomorrow. If yesterday's game showed anything, it's that we can dominate that team to a ridiculous level, almost completely shut them off from scoring chances, and still have a very good chance of losing. On a side note, yesterday's game was the first home Hawks game I've been to since 2001. And that was a Detroit game (the only games they sold out in those days) and it was about 1/3 or more Wangs fans. That game yesterday was probably the most awesome sporting event I've ever been to live, and the only thing close is the last Bulls game at the Stadium (Game 6 vs. Knicks in 1994 when Pippen posterized Ewing on the baseline). A lot of folks complain about the "new" Blackhawks fan, that they try to turn the UC into a Wrigley atmosphere, don't know anything about hockey, etc. No way. I was really proud of how knowledgeable the fans at the game were. Applauding the little plays that started rushes or broke up chances, stuff like that. And that place was obviously completely bonkers when Kane and Hossa scored their goals. It was really awesome to see for someone who dealt with the almost 15 years of shittiness that was Blackhawks hockey. I'm really glad we drove up. And on another side note, Gino's East [expletive] rules.

  4. OO's chart pretty much nails it. We should know in a few hours. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=319424
  5. I'm sure NBC didn't show this, but after Hossa was announced as the number one star and that blonde from CSN was trying to interview him, her mic wouldn't work and the crowd just got louder and louder until she just gave up. It was really funny and awesome. What a great game to be at.
  6. Over on the Hawks boards I've seen some reference to the organization pulling some funny business with secondary market brokers, then re-releasing unsold tickets for sale through Ticketmaster. Or it could just be visiting team's allotments not being used or who the hell knows.
  7. No surprise, but Keith is a finalist for the Norris along with Doughty and Green. http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=375642 I can't give an unbiased opinion on this, both because I know how good Keith is and I know how many bonehead plays he makes. I assume the same is true for the other guys, I just don't watch them enough.
  8. That's outstanding. I guess I don't know anything about the culture of the locker rooms, but I'm surprised he was allowed to just stroll in there to stir the [expletive].
  9. Rinne gave a bad angle on the third goal, the wrister by Sharp, but the other two are just things that will happen. I don't blame him for those -- nobody is going to stop everything. As for Campbell, he was obviously being limited in his minutes, but he did what he does well. He moved the puck, and as we talked about before he came back, that's exactly what the Hawks needed against this team. I expect Q will take training wheels off him a little more tomorrow.
  10. There are still pairs of upper bowl tickets available for tomorrow's game.
  11. Yeah, it was fun watching the Hawks dominate the Preds in the final period using Nashville's own strategy against them. That final period last night should tell Nashville that the Hawks can play Nashville's style of hockey, but the Preds cannot play the Blackhawks style of Hawkey. (Hawkey done on purpose.) Exactly. If the Hawks commit to no more [expletive], full effort every night, this series is over on Monday night. If not, I guess it could also be over on Monday night.
  12. ^Good luck with that. I like this Flyers team and will be rooting for them as the underdog.
  13. I don't think there is any doubt Bickell and Burish both earned another go tomorrow. Bickell drew that first penalty that Sharp cashed in and Burish was all over the place on the forecheck. I really like Bickell being on the ice with Toews and Kane. It's amazing how much one win turned the tables of everything in this series. The Hawks clearly now have the advantage and Nashville has to know if the Hawks play with full intensity, they will lose.
  14. Certainly you aren't surprised by this.
  15. Oh yeah definitely required. I'm sure these days they require full body armor and they probably play with foam pucks until high school. I hope I'm exaggerating about that last part. What a great game. And now I'm totally freaking pumped about heading up to the UC on Saturday. Haven't been there since 2001. Can't wait!
  16. I've got all my chompers and a straight nose. Gotta wear a full cage, of course.
  17. Fire away at the open net, kiddos.
  18. Talk about putting a game in the freezer. This is a clinic.
  19. Here you go, Nashville. You want boring-ass hockey so [expletive] bad? Well here you go. Enjoy.
  20. Sharp walked in, put one move on the d-man and put a wrister past Rinne from about 15 feet out.
  21. my dad has been bitching about that for years and i don't blame him. worst part about baskettall, hands down I don't see how you fix it aside from doing something like adding a bonus foul shot to any team fouled with the lead in the last 60 seconds. After x number of fouls, you go into the bonus After y number of fouls, you just get two points Works for me.
