  1. Holy [expletive], I don't believe it.
  2. There's the first line. Good shift.
  3. We're playing against 10 guys out there.
  4. OMFG that was the penalty? You have to be kidding me.
  5. Carcillo is running around, and we get the first penalty. This is almost beyond belief blatant.
  6. THIS IS HORSESHIT. And I love Ben Eager.
  7. It's impossible for that to be icing. WTF is going on?
  8. I think there is no doubt if the league could choose they would want the Hawks to win this. But it really looks like they want to make sure it goes 6 or 7.
  9. Is there still interference in the NHL? This is [expletive] ridiculous.
  10. Who gives a [expletive] about the Indy 500 these days? Is it still a big deal even there?
  11. Let's have a good old SCF donnybrook: Carcillo vs. Eager
  12. That station didn't dump off the game to some other local network? That's unacceptable.
  13. 8 people bought Hendry jerseys? Definitely friends/family. NBC definitely fixed their crowd mic, btw.
  14. ^Is there any sort of breakdown of which ref called those 13 penalties on the Hawks? Of course that doesn't hit on the real issue, which is the one PP. The Sharks game I could honestly say I didn't remember them missing any obvious calls against SJ. Saturday night was shameful.
  15. I completely agree with this analysis. Niemi didn't play all that badly. He took a bad angle on the Betts goal. I think that was the only really bad one. And he made some great saves when needed. I don't think the glove save with 2:00 left was that great, it was pretty much shot into his glove. But he was solid. I don't think he'll have a worse game in the series though. And I have no doubt Q will have the defense absolutely clamped down tomorrow night. I think they can afford to lay back a little, play very conservatively in the defensive zone and still put up 3-4 goals on this team. As for who to leave out if Ladd is ready to come back, clearly it has to be Eager or Burish, especially if they are going to take dumbassed penalties. Honestly, the only time I even noticed Philly's 4th line being on the ice was when Betts scored. Philly wants to play a fast game, so fine. One of those two is expendable right now. For me, Burish sits. The top line was not good in any area of the ice, but Toews put in some huge effort in the faceoff dot and in those last 20 seconds, keeping the puck pinned up against the boards. At least with Toews, I never question his effort. Obviously can't say the same for Buff or Kane.
  16. My recollection is that Bernstein is a closet fan and Boers is downright hostile toward hockey. Is that pretty much still the deal?
  17. No I don't think so. I think there is a floor surface that they paint on and then pour the ice over it.
  18. Niemi just needs to keep it up. Actually, 80% of what he did against SJ is probably good enough. I've watched a few of Philly's games. I just don't see them being able to keep up. I'm selfishly glad that the games aren't until Saturday since I'm on the road all week, but all this analysis is driving me nuts.
  19. Pretty surprised there are no weekend afternoon games. I'll be on an airplane during game 3, but otherwise this looks pretty good.
  20. On the extended WGN radio postgame show (going till 9 p.m. central time, wow!), Q said "he'll be fine" but wouldn't elaborate. Wow, until 9:00? That's incredible. I assume all the radio talk, or at least most of it, is Hawks? A whole new generation of fans is being created here.
  21. In a less morbid route, can I give credit to Rocky Wirtz for not being much like his father? Yes, Rocky deserves a lot of credit. But for the most part, all he did was do everything that it was plainly obvious needed to be done for the last 20 years.
  22. This is such a golden chance. Yes, Philly is better than their regular season record and playoff seed, but still. There is no way they can skate with the Hawks. Toews holds up THE CUP (!!!!!) after Game 5 at the Madhouse.
  23. I'm gonna go with "upper body injury." There is no way they are letting on what that injury is or how serious it is. But I'm dying to know too. He's really an underappreciated guy on this team. And ^^, yes, I do suppose Dollar Bill deserves some of the credit for this for dying. Thanks Bill! Why don't you ask Rocky how expensive this Stanley Cup is gonna be. Stupid SOB.
