I was in Sarasota and refused to go to a bar for fear of that happening. Luckily for me, they had Versus on the cable system at the condo we were staying at, so I could watch and be pissed off in solitude. Losses don't really stay with me, but I thought those two were going to ruin my vacation. A day on the gulf yesterday (the non-oily part) saved it. I haven't gone back and read the last 40 pages or so. I'm sure this has all been said before. But the officiating is [expletive] terrible. It's obvious the NHL wanted a 6-7 game series, and they were pretty sure the Hawks could sweep or win in 5 without help. I don't say this lightly -- I know it sounds stupid and whiny. But there's no other explanation. Not only are the penalties so plentiful and disproportionate to the [expletive] Philly is getting away with, but they are so suspiciously timed. The Hawks are really getting the momentum in the first period the other night -- BOOM -- [expletive] penalty. It's been like that all too often. That said, the defense has to be better tonight. They have gotten way too undisciplined. Do that, and we go back to Philly with a chance to take this thing on Wednesday.
