  1. Boucher in. I think that's a bad call, though I guess Lav has little to lose at this point.
  2. If they lose this game, my wife will be scrambling to hide all sharp objects.
  3. Wow, the shots were only 13-7? I would have thought it was closer to 15-5. Interesting.
  4. No, Doc alluded to the possibility before the period ended. He suggested (wisely) that it might be done "quietly" between periods rather than give the fans another chance to go nuts.
  5. Sure, Philly was a little flat as JR said. But I didn't see them doing anything wrong necessarily. They were just getting dominated. I guess it's hard for me to see the game from their perspective though. I don't see how Leighton deserves to get pulled though. It could have been 6-0 the way that period went. Now, if the change is made for momentum's sake, I suppose that's another story. Though I'm not sure I buy into that.
  6. Holy [expletive], what a period. You have to be kidding me.
  7. RIP THEIR MOTHERFUCKING HEADS OFF! FLOOD GATES! YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!
  8. Seriously, the effort is amazing. Kopecky and Sharp are flying too.
  9. Earning every bit of this. [expletive] love it!
  10. Need to show these pinheads who's boss. I'm pissed off it's taken this long to see this kind of play, but I'll take it. Please score another one so I can breath a little.
  11. I was yelling, no screaming, for them to center that puck to Seabrook.
  12. Mine is pixellating quite a bit (Directv).
  13. [expletive] yeah, this is the PP. This is the one.
  14. Toews is a man possessed right now. Leading by example.
  15. Pronger has done 100 things more illegal than that in this series.
  16. Nice nice nice! Love 19 and 81 together.
  17. This is the most nervous I can remember being for a sporting event. Ever.
  18. Exhibit A for why stats are worthless.
  19. I was in Sarasota and refused to go to a bar for fear of that happening. Luckily for me, they had Versus on the cable system at the condo we were staying at, so I could watch and be pissed off in solitude. Losses don't really stay with me, but I thought those two were going to ruin my vacation. A day on the gulf yesterday (the non-oily part) saved it. I haven't gone back and read the last 40 pages or so. I'm sure this has all been said before. But the officiating is [expletive] terrible. It's obvious the NHL wanted a 6-7 game series, and they were pretty sure the Hawks could sweep or win in 5 without help. I don't say this lightly -- I know it sounds stupid and whiny. But there's no other explanation. Not only are the penalties so plentiful and disproportionate to the [expletive] Philly is getting away with, but they are so suspiciously timed. The Hawks are really getting the momentum in the first period the other night -- BOOM -- [expletive] penalty. It's been like that all too often. That said, the defense has to be better tonight. They have gotten way too undisciplined. Do that, and we go back to Philly with a chance to take this thing on Wednesday.
  20. Saw this on a (of course) Blues message board though it's a Chicago website: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/and-then-what/2010/05/the-5-people-you-meet-on-the-blackhawks-bandwagon.html Lots of #5s here, I reckon.
  21. That makes sense. I actually thought Bartulis was pretty solid the other night, though I guess he was on the ice for Hossa's goal. I was sort of comparing him to Hendry, as both are #6 defensemen. He was clearly better, even though Hendry played a lot better in Game 2 than he has in the last several games.
  22. ^Very slow, apparently. But not bad, sir. Not bad.
  23. Exactly. The Hawks have been extremely fortunate during this winning streak. But look also at the breaks the opponents have gotten. The giant disparity in penalty calls. The goal off Hammer's head on Saturday. The fluky bouncing puck goal Philly got on Monday night. So it's not a total "horseshoe up the ass" thing where every single break and bounce is going the Hawks' way.
