  1. By "well-rested" does he mean because he's been in the box a bunch for retaliating against Pronger, or does he mean that Buff hasn't been giving 100% in this series? My take is he was suggesting the latter. But I don't really know for sure. I thought he was implying some combination of "he's been worthless" and "he's been dogging it." Which was hard to argue with. No doubt, when Buff goes max effort, nobody can stop him. He's just always been one of those guys who can't get himself to stay at top speed for more than a game or two at a time. Remember when he went nuts earlier this year when he was trying to make the olympic team? Then he disappeared again. Just give us one more game, big guy. Then you can go shopping for a new blazer.
  2. Clearly he has been a great player, but these days the refs give him way too much deference. If he couldn't get away with all the felonies he gets away with, he wouldn't be in anyone's Conn Smythe conversations.
  3. Pronger has gone from being surly to just being a downright [expletive]. Yeah, he's good. But you'd think he would show a little more humility given that he's a 40-year veteran of the league who just had quite possibly the worst game of his career. That quote about Buff being "well-rested" is mostly what I'm referring to. But screw all that. 60 more minutes and it's over.
  4. Lav seems really downtrodden in the post-game news conference. Seems distraught.
  5. 60 minutes from the Cup. I can hardly believe it.
  6. Anthem was insanely loud. But after that I thought there were some nerves. Of course that went away when the avalanche started. The crowd wasn't as bad as I thought they'd be. Maybe a little nerves but it helped that the Hawks came out flying. Dex, I can't possibly stress enough how much we dominated the first period. When you watch it later you'll be like "holy [expletive]". I was waiting for the Hawks to dominate a period, but they dominated that period even more than I ever thought they could. A lot to be happy about tonight. And in the last few minutes and after the game the "WE WANT THE CUP" chant finally started up. Sweet music.
  7. Gonna be watching Game 6 in a hotel room in Phoenix. Wonder if any hotels have soundproofed rooms.
  8. Top 35. Maybe. what did he do? He got away with his usual slew of cross-checks and hacks, but he was called for a hook on Kane that was questionable. Well, in the regular season it's an obvious penalty. In the playoffs, it was a surprising call.

  10. Pronger a -5 tonight. Eat [expletive] [expletive].
  11. And how about Buff destroying Pronger twice!
  12. Completely dominated the first period. The energy up and down the ice was incredible. Everyone was flying. The Hawks I mean. The second was a little uneven. Still some maddening defensive lapses. The third was more of the same until they finally took over at the end. Philly is a resilient team, but it's still obvious to me they can't stay with the Hawks when both are at their best. ONE MORE!
  13. See Eager snatch up the puck?
  14. Keith should have just laid out there.
  15. Did he just cross-check Niemi while he was on the ice? I see they don't miss the highsticking calls on the Hawks.
  16. WTG Buff! I hope that was McCreary.
  17. Interference is clearly not a penalty anymore. Pronger mauled whoever that was. But they have no trouble calling b.s. offsides.
  18. Argh. This just can't be easy.
  19. Toews is one hellacious forechecker. He made that scoring chance all by himself.
  20. Looks like the Hawks are content to slow this one down and choke them out. Fine with me.
