  1. We need a goalie if the defense is going to [expletive] suck Pretty much. There's no excuse for the defense to be this bad. And they should be able to get to Bishop.
  2. Yeah if they win this one they have a very winnable game tomorrow against Colorado, and they'd be right back in the picture. Hawks really need this one.
  3. Today is Presidents Day. There's actually people that get today off. I don't know who they are, but apparently there are people that do. Anyway, I'm sure that's the reason for the afternoon game. I know, my office is closed. Which doesn't stop me from sitting in my office already this morning, just means none of our support staff are here. Which renders me quite useless. I would go downtown for the game if all of my bum friends weren't whining about having too much work to do and can't take a few hours off.
  4. Every game feels like a must win these days. Again with this weird afternoon game here today. Blues had a stupid good game Saturday night, albeit against a struggling Ducks team. Hoping for a letdown.
  5. This is frustrating. Hawks are dominating Pittsburgh, which isn't surprising since they are without Cindy and Malkin, but only up 1-0.
  6. Guess Stuart isn't coming... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=354407
  7. Sometimes it sort of seems like a lot of these guys aren't all that interested this year, not that I 100% blame them. But then, Kane played a pretty good game the other night. Lots of hard work on the backcheck and in the defensive zone.
  8. Good move. Get Hendry off the roster.
  9. Especially Friday. Losing to Columbus at this point is inexcusable. Then at least get a point against Pittsburgh. It's funny, but all of the sudden the Hawks are the ones with games in hand on the teams in front of them. As an aside, last night was the first time I was able to keep my attention on an entire Hawks game in awhile. I think I'm finally ready to care about the 2010-11 season.
  10. I forgot all about him, this is now my primary reason for wanting Pujols. Though he might go on a killing spree at his local Walmart prior to making the video. Haha, that would be awesome. Less than 24 hours to the deadline now. There is talk here that not signing him now doesn't foreclose the possibility of signing with the Cardinals after the season. I don't see how it doesn't. If the team goes south this year, he's gone. If the team wins it all, he's accomplished what he needs to (two titles in five years) and he's gone. Anything in between, he's already got his ring, so no "unfinished business" argument to make. This is obviously oversimplifying things, but the team will be in just as much of a financial bind in November as they are now. It's going to be so awesome when he leaves, and I don't care what it costs, he needs to be in Mesa next spring.
  11. Yeah Toronto really blew that one. Still, great period. This is a huge game and a huge two points.
  12. I think Tallon has just always had a boner for Skille. What a dumb trade for him. Thanks Oilers for sucking. Hopefully they can finish this trip strong.
  13. That goal being waived off is atrocious. There was absolutely zero interference. That's some Brett Hull [expletive].
  14. Turco makes me uncomfortable. He just doesn't look like he's in good position. It could be 2-0 already here with a few bounces.
  15. He also made two TD throws (Knox looked like he was in but was ruled out at the 1 and they ran it in the next play) that Cutler would have had to account for. Plus, Cutler is more than capable of throwing his own pick sixes. You really think a healthy Cutler doesn't give them a better chance to win the rest of that game over Hanie even with how crappy he looked in the first? I'm not buying that (what CBM said) either. During the game, I was the eternal optimist. Just get a score here, get a stop here, go down and score and we'll be okay. And Cutler kept disappointing in the first half. But I still thought he would turn it around, and I think the Bears would have been in a much better position to pull it out if he had stayed in, er, been able to stay in.
  16. Yeah TwoFace is the winner already in my book.
  17. I'm calling Jessie for MVPuppy. Love the Puppy Bowl. Wish Harry Kalas was still around though.
  18. That's awesome. Times like these I wish I still lived up there. Last time the Bears were in the SB I drove home to watch the game with friends from high school. Hopefully will be reprising that in a few weeks.
  19. This article hits this point from an advertising perspective. This team flies below the radar, just like their coach (I like the description of him as a "laconic wet blanket"). http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/columnists/ct-biz-0120-phil-cutler-20110120,0,811714.column
  20. No reason to even play the game now. Also, when I started watching football, one of my favorite players was John Jurkovich. He was on WTMJ this morning and picked the Bears to win. He's now dead to me. At least I still have Bryce Paup. Willie Gault would never pick the Packers.
  21. Didn't see if this was posted earlier, but Rosenbloom says FOX caved and Cornelison will sing the anthem. http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/rosenblog/2011/01/what-part-of-shut-up-dont-some-bears-fans-understand.html
  22. The Bears were definitely garbage in '06. [expletive] I HATE THE PACKERS I WANT THIS GAME TO START RIGHT NOW!
  23. I'm sure GB can find reasons that their losses shouldn't count either, though. Come on, pretty obviously at least the '06 game shouldn't count. Again, like any of this matters...
  24. Did you Aaron Rodgers get fired released? Nope,I Aaron Rodgers quit and found a much better job declared Free Agency I'd call K-Mart a lateral move at best. That depends, does the K-Mart have a Little Caesars in it?
  25. Right. This is like Roy rooting for KU to win the championship game a few years ago. With a few years the feelings will calm down.
