    Panic in Lawrence? How in any way does this signal panic? I got that e-mail and thought, well, that's nice, they are letting us know that they are working on the situation. Worst case for the Hawks right now is the Big East. Absolute worst case. And that's not that bad.

    I agree with you, and that's where it got really frustrating. Right as it was coming toward my pick guys like Eli, Kolb, Freeman, Stafford and Bradford all went off the board. So I spent that pick on Pierre Thomas as my 4th RB. I don't want to say who I ended up taking as my backup QB, but his name rhymes with Sex Closeman.

    Haha, I'm not going to say that didn't factor into my reasoning. And I totally agree with you about Charles. I just hate not even being able to really like my first pick. My league is odd in that it requires you to draft 2 QB, 4 RB, 4 WR, 2 TE, 2 K and 2 D. So after I had my starting QB and TE and top 3 WRs and RBs, so basically Round 9, I saw no reason not to take the top rated D and K.

    I had the most infuriating draft of my life last night. I picked 8th (of 10), which I had decided beforehand was probably about the worst draft position I could get. It gets to me, and Charles is still there, but I'm not high on him at all. Got Andre Johnson with second pick, then ended up with Hillis (another guy I didn't want) as the other starting RB and Benson as a backup. Mike Williams (TB) is my second starting WR and Witten is my TE. I missed out on the top QBs, as I always seem to do, so I waited awhile and ended up with Cutler. Jesus. So, my starting lineup is: Cutler Charles Hillis A. Johnson M. Williams Witten Kaeding Pitt D I reached to get the #1 rated K and D because I figured the rest of my team already sucked anyway. It was just a frustrating night. 4 times the guy I had targeted for my next pick was taken by the guy right ahead of me, including Rodgers in the first round.

    Those uniforms are terrible and SWAC-tacular all at the same time. Am I wrong for hating that all the names said Georgia? I REALLY hope that doesn't start a trend. McNeese St. did it too. It's dumb.

    Despite having the lead, they are getting pushed around in the trenches. Yikes. Our O-line is not getting pushed around at all. Not sure where you're seeing that. D-Line is getting much pressure. I was referring to McNeese moving the ball pretty well a few drives ago. Pierson is impressive.

    Does Scott's contract allow him to be sent to Rockford? Some quick googling couldn't produce an answer. I'd assume it would be, the boys at Second City assume it is. He's only making 500k this year, so if it comes to the point where we need to get rid of him, really won't harm too much. He's really pretty useless now that they've added a few scrappers who can actually skate. I'd be fine with releasing him.

    He said he's too busy to give it any thought, basically. Which I think is an honest answer. When that time comes, he might immediately decide there's no way he would leave Boston.

    Exactly. And they will probably still sell the alternates as they'll be "throwback" or obscure. The Blues third jersey is sharp. I'm sure they sell more of those than the original jerseys. By the way, for those thinking of heading to STL to check out a Hawks game this year, single-game tickets go on sale tomorrow morning. They go on sale at Noon online right? Gotta remember to be ready for that. Yeah. Apparently if you go down to the arena you can buy them at 10. I'm not that motivated.
