We're going to be hearing a whole lot of "Wrigley Field at Corporate Plaza," I imagine. And cool for them. We need enough revenue to paper over Ricketts' incompetence and Epstein's indifference. I'm willing to rename it Corporate Field if it means even more money. They can name it Busch Stadium II. I don't care. Three Floyd's sounds much better

I think Quinns issues would go much deeper than a fall out from putting state money into Wrigley would cause. But you're talking about putting a ton of state money into Wrigley in addition to his other issues while running against a very conservative, cut-everything Republican. I think the cut-everything Republican would be more likely to put state money into Wrigley I think it's a safe bet that neither will be putting money into Wrigley. That being said, I guess there is a slim (very slim) chance that once the election is in the rear-view mirror the governor could decide to contribute something. I think it is unlikely more because of the General Assembly than the GovernorI know it's been said before, but the deal the Sox got with The Cell is ridiculous. It was a different time where the states finances were in much better shape, but damn - Reinsdorf pulled off a sweet deal.

The owners of the Cubs and Brewers could not be more different right now. One doesn't seem to care if the fans stop coming to the games and won't spend any money while having a farm system that hopefully leads to long-term success, while the other doesn't seem to have a vision for building a winner and just wants to do enough to excite fans and keep drawing close to 3 million. Brewers sound like the old Cubs

I think it really fuckin sucks that the Cubs are gonna blow for the next x # of years and still have the highest ticket prices in the MLB. Not getting Tanaka is a culmination of a lot of bad [expletive] that hasn't gone right the last few years. From the renovation / dealing with local politics, the Cubs wanting to spend their own $, limited payroll for a big market team, tv deal, rooftop owners [expletive], etc.. I need a therapist.
