  1. Big Frank hit at every level, it’s the natural progression
  2. That only makes it kinda tough to ask? Interesting I should’ve said “expect” instead
  3. KB’s building a rep in the league as not an everyday player - whether it be for minor injuries or otherwise. It seems there is always something. Kinda tough for him to ask for a top tier contract - the market will make the decision for him
  4. Javy’s trash. Cubs could go dumpster diving for him as a FA
  5. Ortega with the walkoff bomb. There’s something special about this team, I can feel it.
  6. Schwindel continues to carve up MLB pitching. Going 2-4 today (.315) (Shining up a turd - or however that saying goes)
  7. They’re just dead. Zero vibe
  8. those positions aren't "filled". happ sucks, wisdom likely sucks, and hoerner could very well suck. The team sucks which is why they won't go overboard on spending this year. For those of you that believe this is a "retool" instead of a "rebuild", then the first thing Hoyer ought to do is trade players in our upper ml (like Amaya, etc.) for young ML or ML-ready talent. Hoerner deserves a chance to succeed or suck before we give up on him. Happ should get his last chance to go back to being productive if for no other reason than we really don't have another option until Davis is ready. Money is great, but you can't fill 7-8 spots in one year. I know you were using Amaya as an example but their not gonna trade him until they have an extension in place with Contreras. If not, they’ll continue to develop him
  9. https://www.si.com/mlb/2021/08/18/mlb-proposes-salary-floor-lower-luxury-tax-mlbpa This is only a proposal, and it almost certainly won't make it through as initially described, but anything along these lines seems really bad for the Cubs. It would give the Ricketts' another excuse not to go over $180 million. Lower the LT to $180M? I know it’s the first round of negotiations but horsefeathers that. That’s laughable
  10. It took Happ 120 games to warm up
  11. The scary thing is that I think they’ve made a concerted effort at developing SP and are still the bottom of the barrel. Leadership and talent evaluators need to be replaced with more competent people.
  12. Looks like Hermosillo will be making his Cubs debut (hopefully) as a PH
  13. He said what any pending FA is gonna say. He’s going where he can get the most bank. Period
  14. There are 41 games left. I don’t see the Cubs winning 10.
  15. Hard pass on Javy. Time to move on.
  16. Tied with Washington in the L column with 68. Next highest is 76 which is tied between Pitt/Tex
  17. Big Frank goes deep, tying the game 1-1, T6
  18. it's not the NBA, if they offer more money, players will come. I guarantee no players are out there saying, "oh, that team has a losing stink." give me a break. Right if the Cubs pay more they will sign him. Not like Lester who took less money to come to the Cubs because he bought into their vision and trajectory. Or Heyward who took less than the Cardinals offer to come to the Cubs
  19. Happ, Bote and Heyward….are god awful. All 3 are assured a spot on the roster next year. Happ and Bote for not being able for continued development at the MLB level and Heyward for not remotely coming near the expectations of the big boy contract, which has become an albatross
  20. I feel sorry for season ticket holders. Suckers. They just emailed me saying that my number will be coming up this year. I responded that if they won't spend on the team, I won't either. Genius business model. Ticket prices in the top 5 with an absolute horsefeathers product on the field. The dummies will still attend a sold out Cubs Convention.
  21. I feel sorry for season ticket holders. Suckers.
  22. Adbert is painful to watch
  23. Self awareness is a magical thing
