    Season's over. I can't wait to start cheering for some new players in 2009 when Hendry gone and some of the young talent from the firesale are here.

    I dislike this trade because the guy we got doesn't seem to be anything special. And on DEFENSE either! Well maybe he'll block more balls and not make boneheaded plays. But he was their backup. How good can he actually be? Not very, right? I must say, he better show ALOT of good defense for this to seem worth it. It would be interesting to see if this proceeds some trading deadline trades. I don't mind "shoring up the defense" at the catcher position if it means we are still gonna fix a few other things as well. (getting rid of jones, eyre, izzy, etc. . possibly getting an offense upgrade at SS. .)

    Barret likes to give team mates "man massages". You see that? He sensuously rubs their necks with his thumb and pointer finger. Yuck!! That enough reason to get rid of him right there buddy! :lol:

    Someone called in WGN or the score closely afterward. He said his friend read his lips. . The pitcher (young right?) said. . . Young - Are you alright? Lee - Yeah (and even I could clearly see that in the replay) Young - Then take your base you #*@*#*@. Lee - What!? (again you can see this in the replay) Young - began to repeat himself before the punch. Lee reacted to the fact he almost got hit in the face, and then this fatso pitcher EGGS him on after hitting him in his previously injured wrist? If MLB could know the whole story fatso would get 3 missed starts and lee would get a day. . . . . if they were fair. .

    I'm just glad to know ward will be back by the time lee has to serve his suspension. Ward ain't a bad offensive replacement for lee for 5 days. Not at all. It would be even MORE interesting if we were anywhere near .500 though. .

    I wouldn't worry about it too much until the 2 LSU brothers stop hitting. Right now Theroit and Fontenot are part of the reason this team is doing so well. Keep things the way they are right now. Don't change anything when you're on a tear. That's how I see it.

    Man with the baseball acumen on this site, one would think the manager could be responsible for 40 losses a year on his own. :roll: :roll: :roll: :roll: Come off it. Lou's an idiot for leaving Ohman out there. He can't get RH hitters out, and on top of that he's thrown more pitches the last couple days than the "overworked" Wuertz. He's completely responsible for that situation that ended up with us giving up the lead. You're ugly.

(if you are, i give you paris hilton) What I'm saying is that using a "family-friendly" site to debase someone who is not a public figure with terms such as those seems out of line. I can't imagine the female posters on this board feel comfortable with it or maybe they've just learned to ignore it. Regardless, the women on here shouldn't have to put up with it. he is sharing with us a girl who he doesnt like. he isnt trying to degrade her, he is venting. what you are doing is ruining the enjoyment of this thread by making a mountain out of a mole hill. women call other women bit---. Black people call each other the n-word all the time, does that make it ok if I use it here? It's the context of using it that makes it unacceptable. If OMC wants to call you a bitch I have no problem with it. What I have a problem with is him posting pics of a girl who he used to date and captioning them "Rally skank" or "Rally bitch". Would you defend me if someone posted a picture of me and posted "RALLY DORK!"?

    Lou gets a 4 game suspension for YELLING at an ump for good reason (to vent and to hopefully spark his team). Rentersucka and the Braves get NOTHING for intentionally hitting a player as well as elbowing a 2nd basemen. Lilly gets thrown out for intentionally hitting a player. ummm. . . . this is Lewis Black material. .     I wish we had cuban yesterday sitting in the front row that way he'd be yelling and cursing at the stupid moron umpire. Since Lou or Fontenot weren't man enough to fight back to that (d)ump or that ****head renteria.

    I fully expect any questions asked toward Piniella will result in his excuse giving toward the umpires, and Mcdunnough to be on in the booth defending the umps and attacking his own players. BOOK IT.

    That's the thing though. We are near 1st in many areas hitting and pitching. But it's usually ONE guy that totally BLOWS at the GOD DAMN WRONG TIME. It's friggen sickening. Just like tonite. We got screwed by the (d)umps, wasting all of our relievers, we scored some runs, then ONE GUY screws up. Not getting any runs in the 8th comes in a close second.

    Those look a lot like his numbers at AAA this season. That tells me that this time around he has probably relaxed, isn't making such a big deal out of being in the bigs and is just doing what he was doing at AAA. Either that or he is just getting lucky. Obviously, those numbers will come down, but if his batting eye can continue to mature, the Cubs could be looking at an excellent defensive CFer with a bat and speed game similar to Jose Reyes of '06. I'd take that. They will come down. But he's batting right after his best bud. That's gotta give him some comfort. I hope this duo continues to gel because I would love to see Soriano and Pie leading off the top of the order for many years to come. So far, they really have seemed to get things going really well. Probably because of how high their #'s are right now. .

    Indeed. What happened? Hudson beaned Soriano on the first pitch of the game last night. Pretty obvious it was intentional. Well, just for the record. Soriano didn't get "beaned"....He was hit on the upper arm. That is how a rumor quickly becomes fact. Intentional? I have no doubt. But he didn't get "beaned"...The arm and the coconut are two different body parts. Beaned is just a loose term people use when a hitter got intentionally thrown at. Atleast that's what I've always heard.

    Z would indeed be an option for the yankees. But who would want to help them out. I'd feel dirty.

    Are you sure it's not five? I think it was 5 before the game and it should be 5 now still. . 5 in the standings and 4 in the loss column. I always point out the loss column because it's more accurate than the standings (half games can be won and lost on off days). Both teams will play 162 games but the Brewers have played two more games than the Cubs to this point. MIL 33-29 Cubs 27-33 That's a difference of 4 games with two yet to be played for the Cubs. I see. The Cubs would still have to win those 2 games, which I doubt. :cry:

    The Cubs are affraid of a winning record. As soon as they hit .500 they will plummet back down to 6 under again. Mark my words.
