    Please talk about how Dusty Baker should be fired. Please! PS I know you can't.

    I feel Baker is going to be fired. I'd like to hear Steve Stone the NEXT time on the score. He's been saying constantly that he thinks Baker will be extended. Yet all of the newspapers and radio are buzzing about how Baker needs to go. You can just feel it (or atleast I can). Baker is gone.

    I'm not so sure. A number of the more recent minor league prospects have suspiciously high OBPs. ba-da-bing!! Day gotta go!! :lol:

    I pretty much agree. I am not going to work myself into a lather over this anymore. It was a good sign that Prior that was in low 90s all night, and topped out at 96 (I think), only b/c it increases his trade value. That's really all I care about at this point....and what the Bulls do on Wed. night. Trading Prior would be downright silly. This issue has been dicussed at length in several different transactions threads. I won't rehash it here. I haven't chimed in on any of those yet but let me say this. If he does well you can get some NICE players for him this year. And they will be much more valuable. I GUARANTEE you, as a Cub, Mark Prior will NOT start out of the gate. He will be another 1-2 months late again next year. And we cannot afford to rely on him anymore.

    True, but we are talking about THIS year. Why should we continue to let the likes of Rusch and Neifi continue to take starting time when we could be letting the youth play. Maybe Guzman will turn out to be the star everyone thought he could be, Maybe Marmol is a true stud, Marshall has shown that capability, Maybe Pie is really the "Michael Jordan of Baseball." But we'll never know with players like Rusch, Neifi, and Pierre starting everyday. We KNOW what they can do, we've seen what they can do over their whole careers. So why not let the kids play this year, and then keep the best of them for next year. Yep, exactly. And we will find out as soon as Dustworthless is fired and a manager smart enough comes in and keeps Mabry and Neifi's ass on the bench and sticks with the likes of Pie, Cedeno, Murton and gives them some confidence.

    Baker's why this team has had 8 game, 6 game, and 9 game loosing streaks within the last couple years. Whiney credit to other team giving, excuse maker. There should be NO EXCUSES. EVER! If you had a manager with THIS attitude, you would not see long loosing streaks that the cubs have.

    Ugh. I'm not watching it because that is the most HORRID line-up I have ever seen. No Dlee, No Murton, No Walker, No Barret. YuCk!! 2 of them he actually had a cHoicE on!!

Count the days until Lee is back and Nevin is playing LF!! :oops: Cubs will win 5-2 but I don't really care. :cry:

Like a private board? Or does it just filter out certain posts from total NOOBs. . . .. . You can see MY post, can't you11?!?! :wink:

    They'll probably play Nevin in LF instead of developing Murton for next year/possible trade value raising. Which would be OK, IF the cubs were like 5-6 games out of the wildcard I'd have no problem with it. As Nevin is really performing better than Murton right now. But they aren't and they need to plan for next year. What a complete friggen joke this organazation is. And I use that word loosly because that's not the word I'd use to describe them.

    How quickly interest in the Cubs has faded. In the 1st game of this month, we had the 2nd-longest game thread of the year behind only Opening Day. Then again, that was also the night of the memorable "OMC posting wasted" incident. For those who don't know. Old Miss Cub was drunk. Thank you. (took my awhile to figure out that OMC)

    Right, they are already saying they will "let us know" on Friday. Wow I didn't think Lee should be back THIS soon. I mean, they are gonna "let us know", something on Friday. And in addition. Can I get that Seinfeld game on Nintendo Wii? :lol:

    On the radio and on Cubs.com they have talked about how Lee has already taken batting practice and felt good. And even mentioned talks of him possibly even coming back this weekend series?! WHAT!? I thought Lee was atleast 2 weeks away, now it looks like he is coming along real well. The even funnier thing is no one is talking about it here. So I thought I'd post it. I don't want him rushed back, but at the same time, I can't wait to see him play again. .

    No. Aside from a shaky last couple of weeks he has been good. 11 out of 14 save opportunities. We need to dump the garbage and build on the GOOD players. I guess I wouldn't mind seeing him go if some big team "overpays" for him in players. But if he goes. Who is going to pie and shaving cream people's faces during interviews? Dempster has a funny personality and I like having him on the team.

    I usually don't watch much either. But I will try to catch an hour or so. But I'm going on a drive to pick up some filtration for a large saltwater tank I am setting up. I can listen to good 'ol ronny in the car. Since it takes 30 minutes to get there, and also to get back.

    God that would be great. That would mean little or no chance on relying on Wood again next year! YAY!! Will you be saying this when he goes somewhere with a competetent pitching coach and performs like he did in 1998 and 2001-2003? Yes, you can hold me to that, if that ever happens, and I will EAT CROW, I promise!! Are you telling me you really would spend $10 million on Wood next year? I take it you would based on your reply.
