    It's too bad we don't have the offense to afford to keep Murton. If I were GM I'd try to trade JJ and get my power bat there, and keep Murton.

    Z Prior (hoping he comes back healthy) #3/#2 starter signing. Does not have to be ace like, but damn good. Hill/Marmol Marshall And I'm hoping Hendry makes us all happy and suprises us with a big move for the offense in the off-season.

    Let's assume you are right and that is the rotation. Let's also assume that the payroll is around $100M. Then, Hendry will still have approx. $24M that he can spend - what's/who's he spending it on? How much does ARod make again? :D Considering the money Texas picked up in the deal that sent him to New York, I'm approximating that New York is on the hook for $16M per season for 4 more seasons (2007-2010). :wink: How much money did they pay to get rid of him? And what's the problems going on in new york, with him?

    Joe Saunders also. And how much money do the dodgers have after spending $13mil on furcal? I realize Nomar and others might be coming off the books. But I don't know if they'll have the $13mil or so it might take to sign Matsuzaka San.

    1) no way only Prior nets Tejada 2) Not very likely you'll have enough money for that. Not to mention we need a huge bopper in either LF or RF.

    I think Izturis is better than Neifi in that 1) he is younger - if he is not as good as neifi now, he could be 2) he has the potential to improve his offense. Beacause he has yet to hit his prime and has shown he could supply decent offense at SS. And that alone means you are getting a better neifi. Potentially much better neifi, and an everyday player because of that.

When Pagan does well, its obvious and expected...however Murton is only doing well because where "we put him", like Murton has nothing to do with it. What's Baker's problem with Murton? He's white? I appreciate the question mark. But so is Barrett and a lot of other players that Baker plays with regularity. Because he's a white young player who has other options to play his position that can be considered close to his production unlike players like Micheal Barret?

    With Maddux gone, that's even more likely now. :D Even IF Dusty wants to be stupid and waste a start by throwing Rusch out there. Marshall is hurt right now. And I think that Hill has made it more likely he'll get starts over Rusch, for now.

    Speaking literally. He did "turn a corner". It was his first ML win, back to back great performances. I think the "corner" was getting his first win, pitching like he is able to do, and get the confidence to do so. He's got that now. He doesn't look scared anymore. I always saw fear in his face, and hesitation on the mound. Not these last 2 games. He's still got more to prove. But he has, turned the corner so to speak. .

    That's better than paying your shortstop 4.5 million to do that. Oh, wait... :lol: Well, I agree with this assessment. Get a REALLY good bat for either LF or RF and get a really good SP. And this team could honestly be competitive.
