  1. It depends. Reading in text it sounds bad, but I didn't see the TV show so I don't know the context. For all we know he could have been breaking down the play on film on TV and showing who should be where. He could have also assigned some fault on the play to himself and that quote wasn't included in the tweet. The bold is exactly what he was doing.

  4. "Hey guys, it's 1999 I just won Assistant Coach of the Year again and I'm only 55 and super respected and beloved and expected to take over for Paterno but I'm totally gonna retire out of nowhere and it has absolutely nothing to do with the investigation of me and the sexual abuse of a child that just happened. That's cool, right?" Yup, you're the man, feel free to hang around the program until I die, I'm not so sure people can really rape people, or maybe they can, but I think I'm a butterfly. http://media.tumblr.com/1c05bff4c0c089cd638234b7adc8953d/tumblr_inline_mo8zok5E891qz4rgp.gif

  7. Not sure what he had to argue about there looked right down the middle on the upper half of the strike zone but all ofhe plate. Maybe Baez needs glasses lol Well, he can't hit under lights.
  8. This is absurd; there's zero reason for the NCAA to have waited when what was already known was beyond the pale in terms of how horrifying and indefensible it was. Due process was effectively a technicality by the time Sandusky went to trial, and the NCAA had scores of information, much of it provided by the authorities, to act.
  9. Castillo 3-3; just knocked Baez in with a double.
  10. Valbuena just took a "fastball" to his right wrist. Looks to be OK for now.
  11. Baez has been on base all 3 times tonight. Just go with it.
  12. Additional warning signs from Bungalow Billiards nachos: a bunch of the chips were those terrible red ones.
  13. It's Coors, right?
  14. you don't want the NCAA involved in punishing member organizations that systematically enable sexual abuse? Not until due process has ran its course, no. Why? And especially why the [expletive] not in this case? Because I'm not convinced the football program had anything to do with it, really. I'd like to hear the admins defense, make my judgements after that. Basically, I just think everyone deserves their day in court before we go around tar and feathering an entire university. Unless this is looked at as a prolonged cover up/ignoring of the issue specifically done to protect the football program and the school and as such the school should be punished from benefiting from that program as much as they've come to expect. There's WAY too much smoke with this going back to Sandusky suddenly going from heir apparent to being on the outs in '99 after the initial investigation, yet him retaining all kinds of special privileges from the school and on campus. This wasn't a surprise when it finally blew up.
  15. I'm not going to argue with you guys, but I do know some facts. It's on record that Paterno made a report to his superior and the school VP and backed out of the process. That's what the NCAA just released a few weeks ago as the proper course of action. I am not defending Joe Paterno here as much as I am saying I just refuse to be surprised when they give him his wins back, because the NCAA is run by clowns. These "facts" are from a huge grey area, especially when we're talking about Paterno having "superiors" at Penn State. It's subjective, but I find it laughable to think he couldn't have done basically anything he wanted. I think that report was an ass-covering ([expletive] anyone for thinking pun) gesture. I agree, the NCAA is a corrupt, incompetent collection of babboons, but this is basically excusing everyone involved like Paterno was actually beholden to anyone at Penn State and like Penn State was only beholden to the NCAA with this issue.
  16. Can't believe he laid off some of those pitches. Yeah, I was pleasantly surprised. Then he had the crafty steal of 3B and Soler knocks him in with a sac fly to CF. Hooray!

  18. Baez came back from 0-2 to 3-2 and then smacked a double down the LF line.
  19. Are you [expletive] serious? Do you believe that? You think the police/local prosecution's deciisons to drop all charges and not prosecute Ray Rice is being explored pari passu with the criticism of the NFL? You dont actually believe that. You have decided to refute that and say its not being overlooked for whatever stupid reason you might have. The words "police investigation" may have been mentioned in an article that's absolute subject is whether or not the NFL saw the tape or whether or not Goodell should step down. Yes, I do believe that the police investigation has been mentioned in basically every major article about this. The rest is you ranting about made-up things I never said. Rice was sentenced to an ongoing punishment/rehabilitation; I agree it's a relative slap on the wrist, but even otherwise what do you expect him to be sentenced to? He has no criminal record and as horrific as the punch was it's not like he'd be locked up for a serious amount of time; it could have been prosecuted as a third degree assault, which usually at best holds up around a year of jail, a fine of a few grand and typically several years of probation. When it's someone's first criminal offense it's usually reduced and people get off with just the fine and/or community service. Like it or not, he was prosecuted and can still [expletive] up and end up punished worse for it by the law. The NFL was treating it like 2 games out was more than enough and everyone should go about their business.

  22. The NCAA punishing the school for basically allowing Sandusky to use it as his personal evil sex trap isn't "meddling in legal matters;" the criminal investigation and prosecution has nothing to do with that. Though I'll agree with you saying that you think Paterno did what the NCAA wanted him to do if what they wanted him to do was ignore what was going on and hope nobody talks or finds out.
  23. Multiple people, but mostly Gomes.
  24. No, they can be equally awful.
