I just don't like hearing the team's president going out of his way seemingly trying to temper FA expectations right in the middle of when we're all hoping they're going to spending big on FA. It's a tad disconcerting. "Out of his way" lol. You think he hung up on boras to call Rogers and make that statement? Yes, that is exactly what I think happened.

Theo is the master of saying extremely logical and practical things that make sense and allowing people (particularly media people) to read whatever the hell they want into them. Right before he said that he said something about how they have to extend themselves beyond what they're comfortable with on some free agents but they have stick to their principles at the same time. Basically, a lot of times he says a lot of sensible things without really telling you much at all about what they're doing. Where's the rest of the interview? I'd be curious to read it.
