  1. Andrew McCutchen is pretty awesome (and these kid Pirates fans are the best): http://deadspin.com/young-pirates-fans-geek-out-after-fist-bump-from-andrew-1708039796
  2. Wait, what? The Marlins have scored 4 runs; you're talking like the Cubs' offense have somehow failed expectations because they didn't score at least 5 runs in 5 innings off of the other pitcher? How the hell much do you think they're "supposed" to score off of Hand?
  3. Without question they lead the league in hits allowed to the opposing pitcher, and have for several years. Wait, you actually looked this up? does that sound like an actual fact to you or just some aramis fan horse [expletive]? The latter, obviously, but I wanted to call him out on it.

  5. 4th most in all of baseball with 43 going in to tonight; 2nd in the NL behind Milwaukee.
  6. Maybe they're hitting all of this to Stanton to entice him to push for a trade.
  7. Awww yeah.
  8. I will admit I did notice it was a longer trot than normal, but only because I thought it was badass. Yup. Home runs are amazing; they should be able to cartwheel, Moonwalk, roast-kick, batflip and everything else.
  9. I had zero idea that there was some kind of expected time to round the bases after a HR. Unless the guy took at least a minute I don't even know how anyone would notice.
  10. Baez coming back is likely gonna be a lot of dicking around, too.
  11. If you showed me pics of Hoiberg and Thibs and then guess which one had had a couple of heart attacks I would have guessed Thibs AND assumed he was having a heart attack at that very moment.
  12. Players should sprint around the bases or they're not Playing the Game the Right Way. It didn't work out very well when Oscar Taveras tried to get home fast Yessssssssssssss.
  13. After the 11th is when they get extra control or whatever the hell, right?
  14. Last night's stroll around the bases by Castro on his HR demonstrates that he still doesn't get it. His problem is still lack of concentration, whether it's in the field, running the bases or at the plate. 12 errors already in 2 months. Joe isn't going to slam him, because it would hurt his trade value. But how many managers and coaches are we going to go thru before we stop pandering to him? They'll trade him when a 2-3 SP in available, but Castro hasn't changed his attitude and his production has dropped. Whoa, I thought this was a snappy little bit of satire at first. Damn, that's some deep hate. This guy is trying to make him sound like Cutler or some [expletive].
  15. I don't know about the regular Sears stores, but I worked in a Sears Hardware as a teenager and that place was creepily immaculate.
  16. Yeah, I haven't been in one in a long, long time, but even as a kid I remember just how trashed and chaotic they seemed. They always looked like some huge rush had just happened that left it in shambles.
  17. OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII Shots fired, ct. Shots fired.
  18. I want to travel back in time with this guy and watch him freak out over a Woolworth's.
  19. It's mop-up in the bottom of the 9th of a 5-1 game; there's always going to be some schlub for that.
