He's getting babipd. He's about as much of a lock as there is for that kind of obp on this team short of bryzzo. And even while being babipd, he's on pace for 3 WAR walks are down, line drives are down, flyballs are up, hard contact percentage is down. i'm not saying .290 is the "correct" babip, but i'm also not super confident that .340 or what is either. Yup. He's really not getting hard-lucked too far off from what he "should" be at; that OBP is a good 40-60 points off what one would hope for or even expect. And again, that value is propped up by his defense not sucking. Are he and Coghlan examples of them knowing how to fix guys along those lines?
