  1. Everyone watch out for the incoming doom boners.
  2. Time to bust this open and shatter their dreams.
  3. Every pitcher puts up a battle at the plate now and again. That's a poor metric with which to judge Hendricks. didn't jon lester just do this? Against a much, much, much, much better pitcher, too.
  4. Admit it: You couldn't wait to post that. He can't help himself; dude's gotta root for his favorite team.
  5. Well, yeah; it says "sued" right up there in the first post.
  6. I'm a fan, too, but them sucking is a foregone conclusion. Let us let them suck in peace. Amen.
  7. It is but one.

  9. LUKELUKELUKELUKELUKELUKE!!!!
  10. Nothing in that article is even remotely close to this: And yes, he's an aggressive hitter. He's always been an aggressive hitter, but he's often been a very productive aggressive hitter. Note that the talk about trying to make adjustments aren't about making him less aggressive; they're adjusting his stance so he can better reach outside pitchers.
  11. Anyone bent out of shape over this season while the Cubs are dominating probably wipes their butt standing up. Let the Bears go suck.
  12. I still don't get why fans turned as quickly as they did on Prior. Yeah, him being injured was frustrating, but so much of it was due to freak things like getting clobbered on the basepaths or taking a line drive off of the elbow or his friggin' manager trying to get his arm to spin around like a pinwheel. I start to think it was carryover from people being fed up with Wood's injuries, but it's not like Cubs fans actually hated Wood himself at that point. Personality-wise he was a dud, but I never remember him coming off as a dick; was it really so much of a, "oh, you think you're too good for us, eh, college boy?!?!" thing?
  13. Well, I'm sure it's a little different when you're trying to fix a guy who has had significant success so far as opposed to someone trying to break in someone new and still in the middle of developing. First priority would likely be to just try and get him back to what had worked before. I agree, but from the naked eye (not to get all meatbally) it appeared his stance was more open than it has been and he clearly was having problems driving through the ball/getting to outside pitches. But whatever, it's good they identified something and worked out a fix and it has led to better results (albeit very small sample). Hey, doesn't sound meatball-y to me. I just hope it works.

  16. EVERYONE GET CLOSER TO THE PLATE. Isn't that what Baez has been doing, too?
  17. If Ryan [expletive] Theriot inexplicably becomes basically the only Cub besides Wood (and sorta Maddux) from the last 15 years or so that they've welcomed back.... There will be vomit.
  18. Kemp's had a LOT of criticism for his work ethic and attitude and ye olde "he's weak because he can't stay healthy" and the like over the years. Most of it is meatball overreaction, but he's definitely had plenty of shots taken at him along those lines.
  19. I hope the Blackhawks never win another championship ever again. And no, that's not because of recent events.
  20. I'd be the most eloquent, well-spoken drunk around then. Speaking of drunks; did DiamondMind maybe finally pound a little too much Mad Dog? He suddenly vanished a few days ago.
  21. this is a fail. Would have been way better to put it in his hand. Actually, the one in the hand should be lighting the one in his mouth, and then it would be awesome. That would be perfect.
  22. I think people who think Castro has any real value in trades at this point are out of their [expletive] minds. Sure, you say that, but you've got a drinking problem and sontensei is your new best friend, so I don't know what to believe anymore!
