  1. sulley, I don't have a clue where you're getting this from; literally everyone working around him can't stand him. Granted, the Redskins are a horrible organization, but even then, if you're essentially despised from the water boy on up to the owner (who LOVED YOU and is now willing to cast you aside), then no, you don't have "leadership ability." He's shown zero ability to adapt in any way from the injuries that hobbled him and struggles with anything much more complicated than a high school playbook. A couple season ago I was intrigued by the idea, but I think he's an obvious lost cause at this point. I'd be stunned if he ever panned out as more than a backup.
  2. Not so, as far as the coaching staff goes. Jay Gruden is awful. I would also argue that as bad as our Oline looks so far, it's still better then the Skins Oline. I don't think it's necessarily the smartest move to dump a problem like RG3 on a brand new coaching staff. He makes Cutler look like a dream.
  3. That sounds like something Brad Pitt Billy Beane would do, not Billy Beane Billy Beane.
  4. i mostly just like prospects because i've paid attention to baseball enough to notice the Cardinals have lost a #1 SP, their best hitter and like six other important players due to injury and had actual good players available to fill in i've also noticed the times where the Cubs had to resort to castoff [expletive] stains like Mike Baxter, Dallas Beeler, Yoervis Medina or whoever anytime somebody goes down All of the good ones are up; the remaining ones are simply sundry that can be bartered for goods and services. YOU KNOW IT TO BE TRUE.
  5. The people that want to hoard the prospects are terrible and smell bad. This has always been true.
  6. There are 32 games left.... If the Cubs go... 10-22, the Giants would have to go at least 16-15 AND the Dodgers at least 12-20 to eliminate the Cubs 16-16, the Giants would have to go at least 22-9 AND the Dodgers at least 18-14 to eliminate the Cubs 18-14, the Giants would have to go at least 24-7 AND the Dodgers at least 20-12 to eliminate the Cubs 20-12, the Giants would have to go at least 26-5 AND the Dodgers at least 22-10 to eliminate the Cubs Remember, the Giants and Dodgers are guaranteed to have at least 5 more combined losses, making it even tougher. Bless you.
  7. Hey, at least they scored some runs! I want to just fast-forward to the playoffs; the hemming and hawing from the meatballs assuming the worst over the next month is going to be unbearable.
  8. Seems very debatable that the Bears have either.
  9. Who would they replace him with?
  10. Sure, outside of Addison being about a 2 WAR player and Soler being about -0.1, they're practically the same!
  11. So you think it's that these teams choose to "fight" as opposed to facing better pitchers/pitching performances? I don't think many teams have better middle relievers than Grimm. But he wasn't good tonight. So, again, you think it comes down more to the other team trying harder against the Cubs as opposed to just running into a pitcher having a crappy outing?

  13. [Rick James]Hey-hey-heeeey-HEEEEEEEY!!![/Rick James]
  14. I never feel good about things like this.
  15. Man, my dad and I are going to have to correct ourselves because we're wrong, too; he called it "Banks' BOULEVARD." Anyway, the baskets were installed in 1970, and Banks only hit 7 more home runs between then and when he retired. I hope Joe Morgan falls and impales himself on his cane.
  16. You mean the 'Banks Buckets'? /Joe Morgan idiocy He called it "Banks' Alley." My dad and I are going to be able and say those two words and make each other crack up until the day one of us croaks. For anyone who doesn't remember this reference, Morgan said on Sunday Night Baseball that they used to refer to the baskets as "Banks Alley" because so many of Banks' HRs landed there. Of course it took 2.1 seconds for a Cubs fan to point out that the baskets were installed in (I think) the early 70s and Banks hit only a handful of his 512 HRs afterwards I remember the booth getting REALLY quiet after that, like everyone knew it was wrong but nobody [expletive] called him out for it.
  17. You'd think he'd be thrilled he played for the Cubs.

  19. For the love of all that is holy, somebody give me a dong before I die.
  20. I don't understand; would you prefer monster hits instead?
