  1. Redemption time, Baez. David insists you weren't demoted, but well know it's true, because you were catastrophically bad. Now...UNLEASH.
  2. Good job, fartbag. NOW GIMME THOSE DONGS.
  3. I also want to time travel to the playoffs to not have to witness Schwarber's adjustment period.
  4. .393/.577/.711/1.288 since the ASB, good Lord. It moved.
  5. This team is run by smart people. What did they possibly see in Haren.
  6. Who would they replace him with? I thought maybe they'd put Baez in his spot on the roster C: Schwarb/Montero/Ross IF: Rizzo/Baez/Russell/Bryant/La Stella/Coghlan OF: Soler/Fowler/Jackson/Szczur I guess they'd keep him over Herrera though if they went with 11 pitchers. Either he or Baez is going to be the starting 2B. The odd man out will be La Stella or Herrera.
  7. I'm expecting them to go in and annihilate and if they lose, hey, at least it's a team set up to come back. Famous last words, sure, but it feels like forever since there's been a Chicago sports crowd just losing their [expletive] mind over a playoff game. Have some fun, you miserable lumps.
  8. The fans are going to be in panic mode before the game even begins. Chicago crowds are terrified, cowardly scum.

  10. I'm not giving up on the Pirates, either; just the idea that the playoffs are going to start for the Cubs with anything besides a WC game. So, yes, catching them would be moderately exciting, but mostly I'm just [expletive] ready to GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
  11. Yeah, between Coghlan and Jackson (and hell, maybe Baez) he's pretty redundant. No need to push him to perform coming off of that injury.
  12. Why weren't you excited in the first place Did you not read the first page of this thread? We were discussing how we wished we could just fast forward to the playoffs, since we are now resigned to being the second wild card. Nothing is more exciting for ARCubsFan than lustfully leering at the Cardinals' division lead multiple times a day.
  13. Castro has actually been getting regular playing time because of injuries. He's started 7 out of 8 games since Soler went down. I agree with you that the initial theory didn't seem to make sense, and I'm glad it was cleared up quickly. Huh; I thought he was basically playing every other game. Felt like I was seeing LaStella more than I probably actually was; he haunts me that way. Thanks for the correction.
  14. Hopefully he's still just drunk.
  15. Dramatic recreation of the meatballs as soon as the speculation began: http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--zW53iqOQ--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/q1llgiysbtn7mfbqes5v.gif
  16. Coghlan is the worst kind of productive player. He's sneakily good enough that he forces the manager's hand to deny us a truly awe-inspiring lineup.
  17. Haren and Coghlan batting 3rd isn't very pretty.
  18. My guess/hope is that it's not someone on the Cubs since that's pretty shitty and I'd like to think he's smarter than that (and that Maddon and co. would have laid down the law on social media stupidity), plus there's seemingly nobody on the roster who deserves it. Plus it's not like he's been getting any kind of regular playing time; why would he be expecting to automatically get the start, especially after having a turd of a game? All we've heard is how cool he's been with being benched and working with people to try and improve.
  19. what are you not understanding now? Hey, I get it; there's a thousand turgid little micro-doom boners quivering towards the sky right now.
  20. Man, you guys are weird.
  21. Whut.
  22. sulley, I don't have a clue where you're getting this from; literally everyone working around him can't stand him. Granted, the Redskins are a horrible organization, but even then, if you're essentially despised from the water boy on up to the owner (who LOVED YOU and is now willing to cast you aside), then no, you don't have "leadership ability." He's shown zero ability to adapt in any way from the injuries that hobbled him and struggles with anything much more complicated than a high school playbook. A couple season ago I was intrigued by the idea, but I think he's an obvious lost cause at this point. I'd be stunned if he ever panned out as more than a backup.
  23. Not so, as far as the coaching staff goes. Jay Gruden is awful. I would also argue that as bad as our Oline looks so far, it's still better then the Skins Oline. I don't think it's necessarily the smartest move to dump a problem like RG3 on a brand new coaching staff. He makes Cutler look like a dream.
