  1. Oh, Jesus. Look at that punchable mug. Sadly, there are likely way too close odds that the Cubs would hire him as soon as he's fired/"resigns."
  2. Someone gimme odds as to whether the GM or the coach gets fired first. Obviously, the Bears being the Bears they'll do either WAY too late WAY down the line, but let's speculate on a hypothesis.
  3. Mooch it up, baby!
  4. Nagy watches that 894 times a day.
  5. Not sure if the Angels need to be any more loose.
  6. Well, so is he.
  7. Seems like Castellanos definitely benefited from it once he was at Wrigley.
  8. SOMEBODY'S happy...
  9. I mean, they offered him a pretty horsefeathers deal, and it's not like he went to some bum ass team with no chance of doing anything.
  10. When they started talking about scorpions my thought was 'oh they probably saw a couple in the house and maybe a poisonous one in the yard', then I keep reading and it's 'no here's an inspection report about the mature colony of super poisonous scorpions in the yard'. Arizona, not even once. scorpions are fun, but the columbo moment at the end is what sold the story YES.
  11. Folks, I cannot emphasize enough how much you all need to read that entire article. Holy horsefeathers.
  12. I'm pulling for the Bryant trade just to finally see my struggling "FIRE THEO" movement get some traction.
  13. Sorry we didn't fall stupid in love with Mark Grace.
  14. I'm calling BS; there's no way Schilling has any close friends.
  15. That's basically what I'm saying. The Cubs, IMO, are going to have to look at Bryant in 2 years as if he were a "regular" FA coming from another team; they're going to have to get in line with everyone else.
  16. What makes you think that? It's still early to give up on extending Bryant. I don't believe they can get enough back to make it worth trading him. Then again, I haven't any idea what the return on Bryant would be but I'd guess he's not a guy that nets 3 really good players. I'm not opposed to them extending Bryant; I'm just curious as to why you're so sure the Cubs and Bryant/Boras are in a position where them not extended him seems "pretty unlikely." Between how vocally they weren't happy about the Cubs keeping him in the minors, how lame the Cubs have been about spending money, and the rumored discontent by the Bryants over how the Cubs handled Russell, and that Rizzo is almost certainly gone after 2 years would have me thinking that the Cubs are going to have to work really hard to re-sign him. I'm looking at it like they'll be competing just like any other team to sign him as a FA.
  17. I'm not saying they should push him out. I think they would get pennies on the dollar.
  18. I still wish "raisin brain" had taken off as an insult. I'm weirdly (lamely) proud to have been part of this 1-2-3-4-5 series of spectacular body blows: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1004&p=153045#p153103 Also: http://www.northsidebaseball.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1004&start=125#p154178
  19. STL is winning anyway
  20. I no like-a de-juice.
  21. The only way it makes sense if they already discussed an extension with Bryant and they are really far apart. That seems pretty unlikely now[...] What makes you think that?
