  1. Dammit. So close yet so far in the "sign the right Cuban" game of life.
  2. And they are, without a doubt, the same type of people who want to arm all the teachers Pretty sure one of them is the Darren Wilson jersey-guy.
  3. I'm mildly surprised you know who the Padres are. I don't even own a baseball.
  4. This is a damn fine burn.
  5. And that's the "good" Cardinal forum. To be fair, there are quite a few very good posters over there. But there are are also a number of irrationally homer-tastic, meatball, delusional wingnuts, a few of whom are the ones keeping that particular discussion going. Viva el Birdos isn't that bad on balance, either. Cards Talk is a total cesspool. Yeah, there were some other GWR users giving good counter-arguments, but not nearly enough. Too much meatball leeway.
  6. There's at least a couple of goofy meatballs there who seem REALLY invested in the idea of "unwritten rules" being enforced via violence as a kind of life mantra. TT was brave for wading in to that one.
  7. And if it were up to me they'd precede every game with a wonderful Castro montage set to "I Will Remember You."
  8. The shockwave made him pee a little.

  10. He pitched against the Cubs 8 times last year. That is the joke.
  11. Holy horsefeathers; they also have a Cory Spangenberg. The Padres have some serious Baseball Names going on.
  12. Pretty amazing name for the winning pitcher in the Padres game tonight: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/q/quackke01.shtml David, I apologize ahead of time for never having heard of him or his no doubt undoubtedly stirring rise to the majors.
  13. They should be inspired by that and make a huge be-donged version of Clark who just always lets it hang over the edge of the opposing team's dugout. I think even TT would be on board.
  14. A poster of Pistol Pete and a really tall guy Paxson thinks he saw on the L one day.
  15. http://i.giphy.com/Cx0JktG3wBWvu.gif
  16. I might be in the minority, but I wish they wouldn't have done this. That home run was amazing, but it was also one of 6 that day in a non-clinching NLDS win in a season that ended in the NLCS. No need for it to be there permanently. I thought it was more for the coolness/unexpectedness of a ball landing and staying on top of the score board as opposed to the HR itself being particularly momentous or important in the context of that game.
  17. Well, now I kinda want every Theo TV interview to ID him as "Cubs' Jewish Leader."
  18. Man, that is dumber than dumb. Why compare 6 completely random games? Plus even by the poster's own terrible standards, the Cubs have outscored the Cardinals 42-38 so far this season.
  19. Actually, he's so reliable right now he's the best time for a piss break because you know what's going to happen.
  20. There's gotta be some idiot meatball fans complaining about how this messes with history and tradition or some crud, and I want to see those complaints so I can laugh and laugh and laugh at them.
