  1. Now I feel like I jinxed the whole thing. Though I blame Seal Boy.
  2. This is hopefully shaping up to be the drubbing they and us so desperately need. Shocker, all of the usual doom boner suspects are nowhere to be seen.
  3. This hump on the mound is giving up hits to Heyward? He's toast.
  4. And 5-14 in their last 19. Horrid. 28-28 since Javy's walk off. Over 1/3 of the season. I'm sadly/stupidly convinced to change my wallpaper from Baez's walkoff.
  5. That could be totally true, I just think it's too early to make that call. We will see exactly how much he has left in the tank over these next 1-2 seasons. I think he'll be useful barring another serious injury these two seasons; it's after that where he's likely to be about league average at best based on how he's been steadily trending for multiple seasons. Given that he's essentially a gun for hire and they're not likely to win it all over the next couple of years, I REALLY hope the Bulls don't foolishly choose to keep him around given that they have basically no connection with him.
  6. No, it's I-hope-to-God-the-Bulls-don't-resign-him-wise. He'll be 36, and the Bulls really don't need to get caught up in the usual game of former stars who don't when to retire, no matter how big the cap is. Guys like that almost inevitably want too much money when they can do far too little.
  7. Even if players inexplicably ignore he's clearly not the player he used to be and that he's been steadily declining for 4 seasons now, again, he's almost certainly not on the team for more than 2 years. There's a ton of options out there for big name players who want to make big money, and the Bulls really don't stick out from the pack. If anything, I think Butler really stepping up and someone like Mirotic breaking out would have a lot more influence on getting someone big to sign than a short-termer novelty like Wade.
  8. Seems like wishful thinking and a lot of straw-grasping more than anything else.
  9. He can still recruit. Hearing how great the city is, how good it is to have the backing of the FO......It just sounds better coming from a bigtime player, than it does from anyone else. He's one of the most well liked and respected players around. Plus, it takes away the fact none of the big guys choose Chicago. He IS older, it MAY not help. But its worth a shot. Just need to keep him happy and healthy now to see. This just seems like a stretch; even though Wade is still a big name, everyone knows he's at the end of his career, and recruiting seems to work best when the player recruited knows they're going to be (at least in theory), y'know, actually playing with the guy recruiting them for a while. It would be one thing if it's Wade and the Bulls are one of a few teams with money to spend; but since everyone has big money to spend, why would Wade's recruiting have that much weight since he's going to be gone so quickly and there's so many better, younger guys out there doing the same? If anything, I have more hope in Butler talking to guys trying to get them to come to Chicago. Then Wade is basically the veteran who gets hired to hang around a car dealership and sells cars just by waving at people.
  10. meph had to downsize nsbblol.
  11. Agreed. Wade turning into Love would be pretty great.
  12. At this point, any Cub not playing in the ASG and taking the time off seems like good news.
  13. Someone explain to me the idea that Wade would help the Bulls draw in big FA's. He's old and clearly only going to be here a couple years at the most, so why would big names look at him as a reason to come to Chicago when EVERYONE has horsefeathers you-money?
  14. Man, what an FU to get Rose's one friend after they dumped him on the Knicks. That's cold.
  15. What? No. He's old and costs a ton. Though I'd happily give up Vogelbach for him.
  16. That's lame. Thanks business ops Coffee is for closers and business class is for winners. Cubs should have taken the bus the entire way and force Arrieta to hitchhike. With Joe hollering obscenities at them the entire team, BECAUSE IT INSPIRES WINNERS AND WINNING AND WINNING WINNERS.
  17. I only reference top shelf TV shows.
