it pains me that i agree with you this much even though i think the perception that players don't want to come here is a bit overblown...a lot of circumstances that would've been tough to overcome for any team have kept us from getting the big guys we've gone after. but yeah, i think it would help. wade is one of those guys around the league. I agree that actually landing a name for once looks good, but the bold part seems like nonsense. Whet the hell are they supposed to do to accomplish this? -

No, but there is reason to believe it continues long enough for the Pirates to get back into it and they spend the rest of the season battling it out. Like I just said, the Pirates are just getting over from sucking for an entire month; this stretch COULD very easily drag on to varying degrees for another week or two after the ASB.

Oh, absolutely. There's a reason I turned the game off tonight. But I still believe this is the best team in baseball by a decent margin. Oh my! This team as it is playing currently is probably closer to the bottom than the top. I can't see how anyone who has been watching this team the last 3 weeks can have an optimistic outlook on this season at this point. I mean they aren't just losing some series here. The complete collapse of the rotation combined with the nightmare of a bullpen doesn't seem to inspire a lot of hope. You realize they're playing a team that was absolutely horrible for an entire month, right? I mean, it's one thing to be concerned and to realize they're playing like ass right now, but it's absurd to just assume they're going to be garbage for the ENTIRE REST OF THE SEASON.

Missed opportunities, but I struggle to get upset with five runs in four innings. That should be enough for the most part. Yeah, teams with good offenses are going to leave a ton of guys on base because they get on base so damn much. Even if they had gotten in those 2 runs from 3B he could still be griping about 6 LOB (or more).
