  1. Oh good, I was enjoying this game too much.
  2. Why is Heyward like this. It's an affront to nature.

  4. My God, I desperately need a catharsis dong.
  5. We're 6-3 in our last 9 games and a good chunk of those were against good teams and people keep acting really weird because a pitcher struggled in the first inning which happens a lot. Some people aren't really cut out for this sport. i think he was making fun of the cubs Yup. Along the lines of what rocket said, it's felt like for a while now that if the Cubs fall behind early then they're basically done for the rest of the game. I miss the team that scoffed at opposing team leads.

Some people aren't really cut out for this sport. It's frustrating to watch a bad game, but even more frustrating to watch a boring bad game right after a boring bad game the night before. I know they're a very good team, but I'd enjoy a romping of a shitty team when it's a lazy weekend afternoon and I can actually watch the game.
  7. Alright, how about playing like being down 2 runs to horsefeathering Milwaukee with 8 innings to go isn't some crazy, insurmountable lead?
  8. Pretty sure you say this about every park.
  9. I missed the start; why's everyone fuming over the top of the first?
  10. Come on; 5 games is pretty standard suspension boilerplate.
  11. i think that's more a byproduct of them being smart enough to generally go with the shotgun/numbers approach and gamble on a lot of guys rather than investing disproportionately and ill-advisedly in "surer" things. there's gonna be some mottes, sorianos, etc. when they do that but, as you allude to, it hasn't really hurt us. it's even easier to do that when you have a couple of guys like rondon and strop (who were originally acquired by pretty much that same philosophy) at the top. Yeah, that's a better way of putting it; constructing a bullpen is inherently such a gamble because you're dealing with a such a motley selection of talent, and it just feels like they've been bit by bad luck at least somewhat more than what's expected or hoped for.
  12. The FO is kinda meh when it comes to the whole bullpen thing. I have no doubt the stats will show it's been fine more often than not, but it just feels like the Cubs end up with a LOT of chump relievers.
  13. Tim, make a sweet offer to snatch up this FB page: https://www.facebook.com/John-Lackey-Sucks-104483326303405/
  14. What a stupid dildo. The guy barks and whines like he's some kind of storied, legendary veteran pitcher instead of a hunk of fat that had a really 3-4 season stretch A DECADE ago and then miraculously was fantastic again last season. REAL happy this is just a 2-year-deal.

  16. Makes me want to bring back my Pizza the Hutt sig.
  17. One last effort...if the bacon-wrapped pizza-burrito doesn't get it done, nothing will. http://i.imgur.com/kpyL4F0.png

  19. Two in a row Well, yeah, that was SUPPOSED to be gross.
