  1. I wouldn't be thrilled at having declared bankruptcy a couple years ago. Olympics held in the US are typically profitable. I believe Lake Placid is the exception to the rule. Gonna have to see the math with this one.
  2. Clearly Maddon is lying, as is the wont of people on the same team as Aroldis Chapman.
  3. Yeah, talk about the burying the lede on one of the dumbest things he's ever said.
  4. Welp, any extension hopes likely went out the window. Dumb trade.
  5. Soler was struggling to just be replacement level even for the rare stretches when he was hitting. Reddick is a much safer better to actually be productive (though I was looking at BR, which seems to like him a lot more than FG; both hate how Soler violates the game).
  6. Chris Sale is sick of Ventura; doesn't want to be traded: http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/191709448/chris-sale-talks-about-white-sox-suspension/ Sounds like an easily accommodated technicality.
  7. If it's anything more than "because they wanted to improve their bullpen," well, kudos for the unnecessary effort, Duke.
  8. What a weird game; I was fine even when they were down 4-0 because I knew the White Sox' massive tire fire of a bullpen was waiting to get trounced, and that's exactly what happened. Then Joe had a series of small strokes or something and I went to bed unexpectedly sad.
  9. If I can still watch Annie Hall or Chinatown and enjoy them as great films while realizing that the filmmakers are complete scumbags, I sure as hell can watch Chapman be used as a pitching machine by my baseball team while thinking he sucks as a human being.
  10. I can't say that I would rather have McKinney than Cease. Sure McKinney will be higher on the prospect lists and Cease is a complete wild card, but he is also a rarity in the Cubs system. mckinney is literal garbage so of course id rather have cease than him but jesus christ the wailing and gnashing of teeth over these children in LOW A BALL is really amazing. Prospect-hoarding gone mad. You knew it was bound to happen.
  11. I'm just saying; if Willson makes this his walkup music, well....he might become the greatest Cub. Ever.
  12. Heck, I'm excited. Bummed about the lack of extension, though.
  13. Just have, like, 6 permanent locations each for the 2 Olympics and cycle through those and cut the (literal) horsefeathers.
  14. Have all of your posts been about Clayton Richard?
  15. There's where my whole "prospects aren't really people" thing comes in handy.
  16. Yeah, that baby has a huge face.
  17. Well, horsefeathers, now I'm not on board anymore.
  18. He can still be a piece of horsefeathers, but I don't have to root for him. To me, the Cubs winning with him doesn't lessen it or anything; he's just the [expletive] who came along for the ride.
  19. Can't stop reading that as "Hate Night," which seems appropriate given who you're talking about.
  20. Oh my God, horsefeathers that little twerp.
