  1. Just letting out anger. Because bitches be crazy and all. BLAM!!! Oh, excuse me.
  2. I didn't say he fired it at her. It's more than a little [expletive] up you think firing off a gun during a domestic dispute is only really a problem if they're firing AT someone. im not defending the gun part, I misread it as you saying he was using a gun to protect himself or fire at her. Either way, he should have thrown a baseball thru the wall instead of that gun. I'm guessing that was his way of letting out anger. I think all of us on here can put that much together, right? http://i.giphy.com/hieVqmwVjcU1O.gif
  3. Oh, OK; since your incorrect idea was STATED, then it must be true.
  4. So what you're positing is that Chapman is actually so noble because he was so terrified by his crazed girlfriend he had no choice but to start blasting off a gun to protect himself? No not at all, I'm throwing out another scenario in what could have went down, since I provided a link yesterday with details of what happened. He didn't choke her, that's clear enough. He also fired a gun in the garage after the girlfriend had ran off already. Stop making it out to be he was firing a gun at her. That's absolutely absurd I didn't say he fired it at her. It's more than a little fucked up you think firing off a gun during a domestic dispute is only really a problem if they're firing AT someone.
  5. Have you seen how many games the bullpen has either blown a lead between innings 6-7, or when Rondon chokes? I know the stats say Rondon has been great, but my goodness he is awful in major spots. Chapman is nearly unhittable, I could see him coming in and getting those 2 inning saves Rondon could never nail down. But you're talking like the bullpen is the main source of their struggles over the last two months; it hasn't been. Nobody is saying Chapman won't help, but thinking he's going to singlehandedly team when they've had long stretches of the offense or the starting pitching faltering is just silly.

  7. They've struggled only in part due to relief pitching; how is a reliever going to "save the team?"
  8. the olympics have become really unwieldy with the number of sports that have been added, and the requirement that individual cities have to build world class facilities in a lot of sports that aren't even played in that city or country. IMO the olympic committee would be well served to move to more of a soccer world cup-style format, where a country or even partnership of countries host the games, rather than the entire financial and logistical burden falling on a single city. a lot of cities are starting to figure out that it's not worth the cost and hassle, which is why you end up terrible options like beijing and almaty, kazakhstan being the finalists to host a winter olympics. The Olympics going the way of World's Fairs (which, inexplicably, still occur) doesn't seem like the worst thing.
  9. Theo IS pretty bro-y. He's probably more Vinestal-like than we want to admit.
  10. On the one hand, I appreciate their "let's not have a lead so that Chapman never pitches" approach.
  11. Oh God; what if that short burst of winning was just the Cubs Soler-ing in the middle of a great ocean of suck? http://i1253.photobucket.com/albums/hh586/TheDailyLike/tumblr_m4v5ny27QA1r0j8as.gif
  12. Actually, I've heard it come up a number times in Maddon pressers, especially after the lineup switch. I think some people just want it to be more of a public shaming/grilling that they can soak their meatballs in.
  13. I spent most of last night's game watching The Negotiator. THE horsefeathering NEGOTIATOR. Stop making me watching shitty movies by playing boring, losing baseball, Cubs.
  14. Started this very thread two months ago and had it unceremoniously locked. Because this one already existed.
  15. Heyward finds so many different ground outs to hit into.
  16. God help me, but I love these Sox uniforms.
  17. Ooooh, Hendricks with the saucy F-bomb on national TV.
  18. I'd trade the hell out of Baez. I think there's, like, 3 guys I'd say are untouchable.
  19. Uh, the team didn't need saving, and a reliever, even one as good as Chapman, sure as horsefeathers wouldn't have done it anyway.
  20. Wait, Bryant seriously hasn't donged (for real) in 3 weeks? That seems criminal.
  21. Saying he'd be a valuable trade piece isn't "disrespect."
  22. Ugh. "Player X coming back from the DL counts as a trade or whatever" is always lame. The only way this wouldn't suck is if Soler was inexplicably introduced at a PC like he was a new player and Schwarber came out from behind a curtain and pushed him into a dumpster and revealed he had magically healed months ahead of time.
