  1. I didn't realize we had just been using the spring training thread for WBC talk. It's probably the final one, so let's send it out with its own thread, dammit. Here's that Baez clip one more time: [tweet] [/tweet]
  2. That is boss as horsefeathers.
  3. Go stick that thing up your butt, which is where a hot ham and cheese sounds like it comes from in the first place. Getting excited over a hot ham sandwich you can pay for sounds like something people did in the Depression.
  4. Man, horsefeathers that nonsense, talking like a Wendy's and a Waffle House aren't good enough.
  5. Well, now he's history's greatest monster.
  6. One of the times I've seen the Cubs play the Nats in DC, my brother and I were sitting right above the LF corner and just mercilessly made fun of Ryan Church all night. We were basically the only people in the section, so it wasn't subtle at all. We were having a blast...until our mom yelled at us to "leave that nice Church man alone." THANKS A LOT, MOM; NOW RYAN CHURCH HAS THE UPPER HAND.
  7. Love the flip; hate the smug tweet.
  8. I was there when they clinched the division at home in 2008. Man, that was a fun celebration; felt like we hung out in the ballpark with the players all over the field forever. I wasn't nervous at all going to the playoffs; the team seemed totally loose and how quickly they got rolled still doesn't make any sense.
  9. I thought that was some random FO staffer or something. What a forgettable jamoke.
  10. Who the horsefeathers horsefeathers is this Brett Elredge goober and what does he have to do with the Cubs?
  11. That is a beautiful horsefeathering dong.
  12. Damn, that one dude was rocking some interesting underwear.
  13. This thread went from a snooze to legendary like THAT.
  14. I don't know where you get your delusions, raisin brain.
  15. I guess gr is drunk or something.
  16. You say that like it's a bad thing. I thought the first time you said "raisin bran" you were calling him "raisin brain," which is a pretty great random insult.
  17. What is this, a post from the Bizarro universe?
  18. Jesus lmao It was horsefeathering wild; Maddux was pitching, Dawson donged, dudes got tossed left and right, Cubs won...that was a crazy game.
  19. OH. I was there when Dawson got rocked in the horsefeathering face. The site of a pain-crazed Dawson furiously staggering around, spewing blood, kinda ruined 8-year-old me to ever stepping into the batter's box again without only thinking I was about to get drilled right in the grill.
  20. That bounced harder than a Mets paycheck.
  21. Woof.
  22. hahaha, that might be the worst cubs game of my lifetime. what was the atmosphere like for that? David says I'm nuts, but I thought the atmosphere was a HUGE disappointment. Epitome of a terrified Chicago sports crowd. It reminded me of when I managed to get tickets to the Bears/Packers NFC Championship game; everyone seemed way too tense and nervous even before it started and nobody ever relaxed. Yeah, I know the Cubs didn't really do much to get people pumped, but horsefeathers, IT WAS THE FIRST WORLD SERIES GAME AT WRIGLEY IN 71 YEARS. I was expecting/hoping for an insane crowd losing their mind over everything before the game started. I thought the announcing of the roster was going to be pandemonium. Maybe I was just setting myself up for disappointment, but the whole thing seemed weirdly relatively subdued.
  23. Didn't you go to the Harden debut game where Theriot threw the ball into the OF in the 9th? I'd say that counts enough to be memorable, if so. Oh yeah! I left work early pretending to be sick so I could go AND I got laid because of the win! Good day. I could have sworn I went to one at Wrigley where Soriano hit 3 HR, but apparently he only ever did that on the road. He definitely hit 2, and then must have had a deep double or something, but it was pretty great. I know I was pretty damn drunk. I also went to a game here in DC when Soriano was on the Nats and all of the Nats players were at different gates at RFK to greet fans; Sori was at the one my dad I came in, and the crowd wasn't big at all at that point, so we went right up to him, shook his hand, and my dad was all, "you'd look great in Cub blue next year" and Soriano chuckled heartily. YOU'RE WELCOME.
  24. Man, this thread is telling me that I've been to a ton of regular-ass, forgettable Cubs games, apparently. Besides Game 3 of the WS, which sucked butt.
