Out of curiosity, I decided to investigate my hunch that Happ swings and misses pitches in the zone an awful lot. And its true. According to fangraphs, his Z-Contact% (contact % on pitches in the strike zone) is 77.9 with the average being 85.5. Zobrist, btw is 93.1% with a career average over 90%. Not claiming this is a critical stat, but still. Just thought it was interesting. And yet look how little Zobrist has done with that this year, and with zero signs of righting the ship as the season wound down. -
I don't know; his "don't be haters" analysis is pretty convincing.

Am I crazy for wanting him in there instead of Zobrist? Ugh, no, I am not. Zobrist's numbers are nightmarish even WITH those two home runs he hit towards the end. Jay at least has been getting on base at a somewhat acceptable clip or better since June and plays better defense.

Zimmerman's had such an odd year; he was a beast the first two months of the season, seemingly remembered who he actually was for the next 3 months, and then in September flipped it back on again.

It's amazing how calm I am going into this series thanks to winning it last year.At this time last year, before the Giants series, I was completely unable to sleep, but tonight I'm going to have no problem, then I'll get up and enjoy the hell out of the early game and part of the Indians game. Man, I slept like a baby last night; best night of sleep I've had all week. I woke up before the alarm went off and actually felt completely rested and in a good mood; the Friday before a holiday weekend and the start of Cubs' playoff baseball? Good times.
