Man, I didn't even fall asleep until about 3:30, so I am a walking corpse right now; thank god it's almost the weekend. I didn't even watch most of the game; I was playing GTA online when it started, and by the time I flipped the game on the Cubs were up 1 so I figured I had to keep playing for good luck. I had Gameday on my computer in the other room, and I would flip over to the game every 5-10 minutes to see what was happening, but probably only watched about half an hour total, tops, and most of that was the Scherzer inning after he had gotten Bryant and Rizzo out. The rest was just too brutal and stressful; if I hadn't got this blood pressure under control a year ago I would have definitely head popped. Heck, after it was over, I did actually tear up; not even in a sad or overjoyed kinda way, but just as this weird emotional release of that stupid, stressful game and spending the last half an hour pacing back and forth between my computer and the living room and checking my phone when it would go off from a text because those were mostly only coming in when something good happened. I'm glad I didn't go to that game. -
This is the Dustiest thing ever short of him actually running out there and hitting Scherzer's elbow with a bat.

All of the GIPHY links you're using have a .webp suffix and they're not working. Weird...they work fine for me....but they don't if I just put the giphy link like usual....does this work? All good.

Nah Gio is a good pitcher, great at times. Hendricks is better. Plus we hit lefties well. Didnt realize Gio was on full rest, though. Thats disappointing, I normally math well when i have enough fingers to cover it. :/ weird...saturday's game feels like an eternity ago for me. Some of us...are still there... *Dramatic music swells* *Glory-tear*

Even if you go by Jay's career numbers, he's still got a .378 OBP against LH starters. I just want someone on base. I'm seeing .359 in his career (and .410 this year), but he's working good at bats and LaStella hasn't seen any lefties all year. I'm fine with it. .359 is against lefties in general; the .378 is against LH starters over his career.

How have we been handily outplayed in this series? Haven't you been counting? The Nationals have had two legitimately good offensive innings in this series. Two!! How are we supposed to compete with that?? I guess by having three-ish?

It's a coping mechanism. Personally, if I set my standards lower for this sort of thing then I have found I actually get over it much, much, MUCH quicker. And if I'm "wrong," hey, great! I'm just as pumped and thrilled and overjoyed as if I had been all bravado and cockiness, which definitely leaves me in a much worse mood for a while if things do go bad. I mean, I try to not just be a total Doom Boner (thought not always successfully) and more, like, "OK, here's how it seems like this COULD go wrong."

Yeah, it's one thing if you grab someone's phone or they grab yours and send some joke text to mess around, but to carry on an entire conversation with weirdly specific personal details? I mean, I guess kudos to him for trying to not just go with, "I GOT HACKED!!!" as an excuse.
