  1. Really wish this thread had been called "Jed Jalk".
  2. Personally I don't give a horsefeathers how much we have to squint to see how those teams technically worked out; sneaky's point, IMO, is that the Cubs didn't even try to put themselves in the position where we could be like, "uhm, actually, they spent on the money on X, but it was actually B, C and D that worked out that pushed them over!" Like, they didn't even bother to get X, AND B, C and D didn't work out, so there you go: baseball hell. This can't possibly be the place anyone here 5 years ago thought the Cubs would be at this point.
  3. The Cubs finished the 2020 season in first place. If that isn't the best argument for the whole thing feeling fake, then I don't what is.
  4. How can you hate the Dodgers? They are the smartest organization in baseball and go and get the pieces to stay at the top of the standings every year. I would love an ownership group and front office like the Dodgers. Certain Cubs fans hate the Dodgers because the Cubs were supposed to be the NL Central Dodgers for the foreseeable future, and instead were the NL Central Dodgers for, like, 3 years and then gave up/failed. Of course those same fans are going to sweatily crow about how both teams only have one recent WS to show for it, but those people are deep in denial.
  5. Thanks again! May SSR pay for his crimes.
  6. Alright, now I'm 100% sold.
  7. Its for sale. In any development that happens there the city probably will be involved too. It doesnt take a huge leap for the city to help negotiate the path presuming the seller is willing to part at a price that makes sense. Outside of the state of the land, the main area of consternation with the Bears having a new stadium anywhere in the city is going to be the team wanting money to help fund it, and the city and state's attitude being "go pound sand." An area of land simply being for sale or not isn't the issue/solution.
  8. Offered up by who?
  9. But it just makes the team worse and shoots up the odds someone gets hurt. Making everyone play blindfolded would definitely be fun to watch, but come on....
  10. Do they also believe the messed up field is "Bear Turf" or some horsefeathers that will magically cushion the ankles of Bears players but tear up everyone else?
  11. Are there still dipshits who believe in horsefeathering Bear Weather? How? Why?
  12. No BBQ can make up for that.
  13. That legit makes me horsefeathering angry and depressed.
  14. I mean, what's wrong if it just ends up being more park space? Parks horsefeathering rule.
  15. It's already the Big Museum neighborhood; put another museum or two there.
  16. I mean, this guys is DEFINITELY a Superfan:
  17. That's amateur hour. You should build up so they can have a rancor pit instead of the QB graveyard that's terrible for the environment.
  18. I can only hope when he dies that Dawson's funeral home hosts it.
  19. And hosting Super Bowl LXV ish AKA the only possible way the Bears are sniffing a SB between now and when the planet is swallowed by the sun.
  20. It is hard to take a "wait and see" attitude with this ownership, but all things being equal, the Cubs are in a good position to nab talent and get right back into contention in a very mediocre division.
  21. I see your 118 QB rating and raise you, 7 points scored. I fold? Checkmate.
