  1. FALSE. And really, seasons 3-8. Season 2 was uneven, but had some amazing episodes. Simpson and Delilah Dancin' Homer Bart the Daredevil One Fish Two Fish Blowfish Bluefish Oh Brother Where Art Thou Lisa's Substitute Three Men and a Comic Book I love season 2, but you don't start people there if you're trying to sell its greatness.
  2. he landed on it awkwardly while making a catch. looked very bad but i didn't think it looked any more gruesome than your standard football knee ligament tear. horsefeathering robots don't care about human bodies doing what they are not meant to do. It was awkward and ugly and gross and had to be reviewed a million times because of the overturned touchdown. I didn't watch a single one of them, but imagine being the replay review guy that had to see it over and over.
  3. That sounds kinda ominous.
  4. There's zero chance I watch a clip of what happen to the Bears guy, but was it a similar freak thing? he landed on it awkwardly while making a catch. looked very bad but i didn't think it looked any more gruesome than your standard football knee ligament tear. Ah, gotcha. So not quite as random as Bo seemingly just being pushed out of bounds, but still, that's messed up.
  5. yup...hip dislocation with vascular damage There's zero chance I watch a clip of what happen to the Bears guy, but was it a similar freak thing?
  6. This is so flippin' confusing.
  7. Wasn't Bo Jackson's big football injury arterial, too? Or am I remembering that completely wrong?
  8. read the article. throwing bombs isn't what makes QB's good. Then read this article: http://uproxx.com/ksk/f-k-it-im-throwing-it-downfield/ Edit: geez it's been awhile since I've read that article and my worldview and tolerance for words in that article has changed. Maybe don't read it Magary just called himself out for that kind of thing this week (and trying hard to be different and better), and mentioned that one specifically. He's a good dude: https://deadspin.com/the-reckoning-always-comes-1819874125
  9. This is all just the FO playing the long game and inserting Martinez into DC so he can spend all season telling Harper about how awesome it is in Chicago and being on the Cubs. Godspeed, good sir.
  10. horsefeathers it; these sackless wonders just had horsefeathering Chief Wahoo all over the World Series last year, so I'm not gonna bother to pretend like they have any standards with this sort of thing.
  11. Is there a way to see which posts got the most likes? I know this wouldn't be at the top, but it's gotta be up there in terms of non-WS/non-Fred posts.
  12. That's all it ever is, but you just hope to be that lucky.
  13. Sadly, the most obvious demarcation, IMO, for quality episodes is whether or not they are pre- or post-Phil Hartman.
  14. Jerkass Homer is a flawed theory anyway; there's tons of great episodes in the first 10 seasons that involve or revolve around Homer being a jerk.
  15. FALSE. And really, seasons 3-8. i'm good with any non jerk ass homer season, but you're right, show really hit it's stride starting season 3. earlier ones are good but not on that level. Lots of good horsefeathers in those first 2 seasons to enjoy after the fact, but, yeah, if I'm selling it (rightly) as maybe the funniest show of all time, I'm not gonna have someone watch it from the beginning.
  16. Nobody in their right mind still watches it now.
  17. While you should definitely drop absolutely everything you are doing and mainline at least the first 6 seasons right now, it will probably never have the same impact as growing up with comedy perfection in real time. FALSE. And really, seasons 3-8.
  18. This is good just on a straight up basis. With the Perd tie-in, it is amazing. I am genuinely jealous at how TT just steps up and drops maybe the most perfect gif/reply/poster combo of all time. I've cracked up every damn time I keep seeing it.
  19. How can we trust a man who believes Pitt the Elder was England's greatest Prime Minster and not Lord Palmerston? Me: "Hmm, I don't immediately get this, but based on who liked it....it's probably a Simpsons reference. *googles* yuuuuuuup. This one in particular is an unforgivable blind spot. ATTACH THE STONE OF SHAME.
  20. MLB won't, but they should. horsefeathers him. Based on Yu's postgame quotes, he's a far better man than I could ever be. It's total [expletive] if they don't suspend him right away; the guy would appeal and not miss any of the series, so MLB will be REALLY dropping the ball if they just sit on their hands.
  21. Yes, I know.
  22. Again, just people saying how they could see it being a weakness that could hinder a baller offense relatively quickly. Not that much of a stretch (though a lot of that is admittedly based on how gracefully one worries Lester is going age).
  23. horsefeathers FA pitching market for a while, not so impressive starting pitching options in the farm system. Things can look real bad real fast. This has been discussed before; it's not a crazy thing to be a tad worried about. trades are a thing and are the direction we are likely headed for at least one starter this offseason Yes, I know.
  24. what Shitty FA pitching market for a while, not so impressive starting pitching options in the farm system. Things can look real bad real fast. This has been discussed before; it's not a crazy thing to be a tad worried about.
