Prior's delay has been so long and mysterious because the Cubs are attempting to transplant his freakish calf muscles into his arms so he can pitch AND hit like a monster upon his return.
Couldn't you have edited your joke to jibe with Fred's edited post? I took a knee on a wild ____. A winner would know how to adapt. I'm the Enrique Wilson of internet schtick. *Hangs head in shame*
Thank you, Todd. Really, at this point, playing as poorly as possible is going to do the team, and the city, much, MUCH better in the long run. Winning games because of humps like Neifi and Bynum and Womack is only going to cause more pain.
Do you mean could have if the Cubs could have been smart enough to trade Sosa earlier and get a player LIKE A. Jones? Or was this deal specifically rumored/on the table/discussed? Those with better memories can help me, but a few years ago the Braves were shopping Jones, and Sosa's value was still quite high at that point. There were many who advocated Sosa for Jones. Man...I'd be curious to see what other deals/offers were out there for Sammy before the relationship between him and the Cubs fell apart.
I know I am! The bar for the levels of pathetic-ness that'll be tolerated has been raised by the Tribune and upper management. The challenge has been set, and the Cubs WILL meet it!
