I'll happily admit I was very impressed with him today, and in several other innings over his first two starts. I'm still not sold as to whether he'd be more useful as a Cub or as trade bait, but hey, I hope whatever happens works out best for the team. But it's the Cubs, so it won't. Oh well.

Winning is cool, but rehiring the current staff is totally uncool. The Cubs must lose every series for the rest of the year. Especially since it'll prove that Tony Womack is NOT the offensive spark this team needed. -
Dempster had a scary moment, but even if it had gone it was just one run...he locked it down and got 3 k's over 5 batters...way to go, Ryan!

Aurilia hit one in the air. The ball hit off the wall behind the basket, bounced off the basket itself, then plopped out onto the field. Murton ran over and picked it up like it was in play and the umps called it a double. Wow, talk about getting away with murder...not that I mind...

I'm not sure I can blame him for having no confidence in Pierre at this point, though. But. If he doesn't, then the guy shouldn't be hitting leadoff. Or in the starting lineup. DFA :D Hey, I can dream can't I? Well, Pierre is still enough of a name that I think they could net something for him if they trade him. Nowhere near what they gave up, but it's better than just dumping him.
