  1. Wombat?? Womack. Mine sounds more feral and yet also more adorable.
  2. This is where you show it for real, Wombat.
  3. Hmmmm...maybe Prior will come back hitting, too.
  4. Or possibly a leadoff is he goes back to being more patient. Though either way would be fine by me...ideally, Murton and Walker filling the 1-2 spots in the lineup once Lee is back is the way to go.
  5. "Injury delay?!?" With Walker, Wood or Griffey, it's a total toss up...
  6. Man, the Cubs love trying to drive it straight out these last few days.
  7. I wanna see Pierre lose it and try and steal 1st.
  8. He pitched VERY well in the 1st inning that game. Then he got rocked in the 2nd and 3rd, then got back on track.
  9. That's what people are saying about Guzman...three years ago.
  10. I'll bet if Hendry saw just a picture of Kurt Rambis holding a baseball, he'd offer him a multi-year contract to play for the Cubs.
  11. Didn't say it was. I'm just a little stunned that so many are still trying to pass this off as only or mostly psychosomatic.
  12. Why DOES Dusty love crappy hitters so much? Especially since he was a damn good one when he played...maybe their crappiness makes him feel better about his own hitting?
  13. GAH! OBP is probably the most important stat in a hitter. Why is there such antagonism towards the walk!? And the odds of getting them on this team are ridicuously bad. I think with the options out there, Walker more than fits the bill, and cheaply. He has proven success in that spot. I'm sure if there was a guy who could run and walk, we'd all be happy. Well there are some, but they just cost a lot.
  14. Agreed. If we had a quality GM, we're basically taking the steering wheel out of Baker's hands. Its hard to flub up when you have quality players on the bench and on the field. As Dusty proved in SF. I'm shifting more to the "Hendry is the real problem" camp myself. Though I still maintain that Rothschild is a monster no matter who else is managing/coaching around him.
  15. Bwaaaaaaaaaa-haahahahahahhahahahaaaaaah! Not only hilarious, but they can also see into the future...
  16. A friend of mine in the Bay area has this, both he and his wife do. He describes it as feeling like there are thousands of tiny hair-like "bugs" crawling under and in and out of his skin...plus trouble sleeping, constant rashes and skin ailments and muscle aches/cramps/spasms. I can't believe so many medical professionals are basically saying people are "making most of it up" in their heads when thousands of people have it, typically multiple people living together.
  17. Good. Gimme that draft pick! Can't hide failure at all when you're left twisting, naked and battered, in last place. Suck on THAT, McDundry.
  18. Oh my God! They flattened him! No wonder he was out for so long...
  19. The Cubs have a pretty good leadoff hitter right now. His name is Todd Walker. Too bad he'll probably never sniff that spot again for Chicago and will be stupidly dumped after this season. Idiot Cubs.
