  1. I fully admit I opened this thread expecting to read that Pie was flying to Chicago to kick Pierre in the balls and take over in CF. Oh well.
  2. That just convinces me that my hunch that the Cubs should effectively shut down Prior (in not pushing him back to the bigs) for 2006. Work to rebuild him into a dominant pitcher again so he and Z can be the dominant 1-2 punch they should be in the future. Don't make the same mistakes that were made with Wood. Screw 2006...it's hideous and over already in May. Think to the future. SAVE MARK PRIOR!!!
  3. I'm not rooting against the Cubs. I'm rooting against Baker/Clines/Sarge/Rothschild/Hendry/McPahil/The Tribune/Ronnie Woo Woo/That guy that dresses lik the ivy/etc., etc., etc..
  4. I'd trade Aramis and Wood and Cedeno for A-Rod in a heartbeat. That's a serious step to rebuilding this team for the next few seasons. If Hendry did that and then seriously pursued someone like Abreu or Carlos Lee as well? Man...what a pipe dream.
  5. Unless he somehow turns into the new Maddux...
  6. I'll happily admit I was very impressed with him today, and in several other innings over his first two starts. I'm still not sold as to whether he'd be more useful as a Cub or as trade bait, but hey, I hope whatever happens works out best for the team. But it's the Cubs, so it won't. Oh well.
  7. Winning is cool, but rehiring the current staff is totally uncool. The Cubs must lose every series for the rest of the year. Especially since it'll prove that Tony Womack is NOT the offensive spark this team needed.
  8. Dempster had a scary moment, but even if it had gone it was just one run...he locked it down and got 3 k's over 5 batters...way to go, Ryan!
  9. Alright, Demp! One more, big man! Lock it down!
  10. Aurilia hit one in the air. The ball hit off the wall behind the basket, bounced off the basket itself, then plopped out onto the field. Murton ran over and picked it up like it was in play and the umps called it a double. Wow, talk about getting away with murder...not that I mind...
  11. OK, he's got some speed then...before he was having trouble hitting 90, if at all...
  12. What speed is Dempster hitting with his pitches?
  13. Alright, I will happily eat some delicious crow.
  14. Pitch count, dude. I'm not worried about him taking out Wood, just worried about him putting in Aardsma specifically.
  15. Even a dog has his day. Or Neifi Perez. Aardsma's in? Does Dusty hate Wood?
  16. Freddie isn't just bad, he's... BYNUMBINGLY-BAD!!!
  17. He was not available Yesterday and his wife had the baby yesterday. He is back today. Hmmm...maybe the funk was a mental thing, and having that kid will see him come out and dominate again. I hope.
