    i think he is the best option in the system until ep is ready. alot of people on this board were stoked to get freel or loretta to play 2b and i think theriot can be at least as good as they are. i like what i've seen from theriot alot and think he can be better than just a utility player if given a shot. Based on what? His career numbers thus far aren't terribly better than Cedeno's. And who is to say that Patterson is even the answer down the line? Just because they're young doesn't automatically make them good.

    Without Kerry and a ? on Prior? Deffinatly. They (JH) know that we are in dire need of Picthing. If Miller imrpoves he might look good as a possible #4 #5 quality guy. JH still needs to out out there and get that bonified Ace like starter. . Or how about long relief? Surely he's an upgrade over someone like Rusch. Walrond is an upgarde over somebody like Rusch.

    That's too easy. Game 7 of the World Series; Wrigley Field; top of the 9th; Cubs lead the Yankees 11-2; two outs; none on; Arod hits a weak grounder to Lee who fields the ball about three feet from first base and a meteor hits and wipes out the planet before Lee can touch first base. Too big. It would have to be a scenarior where the fans live on to suffer even more. Maybe the Earth would just open up and swallow both teams and leave everyone else.

    Gameday says Mateo left the game due to an injured back...too much peeking over Z' shoulder while he surfed for online porn? For shame, young man... Oh, and the Cedeno watch for today has a caught stealing and grounded into a double play. Stay tuned!

    Unless he strained something out of embarassment, I highly doubt it.

    I would do any one of those deals to get Dunn so fast I'd set the Earth spinning backwards to a point where the Cubs WOULDN'T have Dunn, and I would be sad again.

    Dunn, please. Try Dempster or Howry and somehow magically sell Pagan and Jones as a platoon team.

    It's very considerate of Cedeno to faithfully find a way to screw things up one of the rare times he gets a hit.

    Count me in. Sure, I guess having THE #1 pick would be cool, but ended up 2nd or 3rd worst is still going to get you a pretty damn good, if not great, pick. There are many more options along those lines in baseball than other sports.

    The defensive/throwing miscues would be pretty spectacular, too.

    Problem is, does he like the cubs and appreciate them enough that he will feel inclined to repay them by accepting a 1 year incentive based deal. If so, I'm for it. How likely is that he'll accept? I'd say about 40%. Personally, I don't see earth-shattering deals headed his way that would make him turn his back so readily.

    If he can keep pitching like today and better until the end of year AND can be had on the cheap, sure, sign him for a one year/incentives deal. And the zone today was definitely pretty tight.

    Was this after the first out?? Yes Santo speculating that Riot got hit in the finger by the ground ball That's exactly what happened. Nothing major, but it looks like the ball caught him under the fingernail, seperating it a bit from the skin and causing him to bleed a lot.
