  1. It's very considerate of Cedeno to faithfully find a way to screw things up one of the rare times he gets a hit.
  2. Count me in. Sure, I guess having THE #1 pick would be cool, but ended up 2nd or 3rd worst is still going to get you a pretty damn good, if not great, pick. There are many more options along those lines in baseball than other sports.
  3. The defensive/throwing miscues would be pretty spectacular, too.
  4. Problem is, does he like the cubs and appreciate them enough that he will feel inclined to repay them by accepting a 1 year incentive based deal. If so, I'm for it. How likely is that he'll accept? I'd say about 40%. Personally, I don't see earth-shattering deals headed his way that would make him turn his back so readily.
  5. He just needs to be glad he's not playing soccer. http://www.calcioblog.it/uploads/VinnieJones.jpg
  6. If he can keep pitching like today and better until the end of year AND can be had on the cheap, sure, sign him for a one year/incentives deal. And the zone today was definitely pretty tight.
  7. Was this after the first out?? Yes Santo speculating that Riot got hit in the finger by the ground ball That's exactly what happened. Nothing major, but it looks like the ball caught him under the fingernail, seperating it a bit from the skin and causing him to bleed a lot.
  8. Dusty better bring out Wuertz or Howry in the 9th. No Dempster today, please.
  9. Put it in the book, Aramis officially has 100 RBI's this year! Pretty incredible with a team like this...
  10. I will say this about The Riot...the man knows how to take his pitches.
  11. Way to suck at the one thing you're supposed to be good at, Juan.
  12. If posting Neifi's stats is cruel then he really needs to stop being such a horrible baseball player.
  13. I switched the game on in time to see that...has the ump been that tough on the strike zone all day?
  14. Under the heading "NORTH SIDE BASEBALL." So we can only talk about current Cubs players?
  15. Crappy Gameday. It just said "in play, no outs recorded" and then it was suddenly a 2-run homer. That's probably because the ball hit the foul pole, bounced back onto the field of play and Pagan tried to pretend that the ball was still in play. Gotcha. Also according to Gameday, Pagan just had 4 pitches in a row over the heart of the plate, almost dead-center, pretty much the same spot each time, and he couldn't even buy himself a hit. Blech again.
  16. While I tire of the Neifi talk, this forum IS called "BASEBALL Discussions."
  17. Nah he just has no nuts. You'd think Z would share, you know, considering how big his are. And he has six of them.
  18. Crappy Gameday. It just said "in play, no outs recorded" and then it was suddenly a 2-run homer.
  19. I guess Lee's gonna be #4 until he comes back fulltime.
  20. Damn you!
  21. Some of this gets old, really fast. Hendry and Baker get enough bashing in threads that deal with their moves and ideas. Bringing this crap into every [expletive] thread really isn't necessary or productive. [/rant] wow...someone needs to calm down. Someone needs to fix the broken record.
  22. QFFT. He's so obviously not a "flash in the pan" talent. He is THAT good. You do what needs to be done to get him healthy again. Sadly, I have little faith in the current organization doing that. I'm just hoping and praying at this point that he's on point over the off season and he gets back into fighting form. There's little reason for him not to short of his arm falling off.
  23. Exactly. It's gotten to the point that it almost seems like people want Prior to fail from here on out because of his previous DL stints so the Cubs can dump him as quickly as possible. There's not a person alive who is a Cubs fan that isn't incredibly let down with how his career has gone thus far, but the brushing him off already as a "wimp" or being "washed up" really is getting ridiculous.
