  1. The title for this thread is so sexist. LIVE IN THE NOW, MAAAAAANNNNN!!!
  2. Dear Lord...please somehow make Carlos and the Cubs settle on a 3-4 year deal. Thank you.
  3. I think this is the most sensable solution. My first thought is that the Cubs will not win the WS this year so go with Pie, But this solution is better yet. I do believe however that Angel Guzman should be the 5th starter. He probably is the best option now and certainly not so much behind that it is worth going with Miller Gizman is obviously the btter option in the long run, but he's also not going anywhere. I still think it's better to get Miller out there and hopefully he does well enough to net us a decent trade.
  4. Blech. Just say "no" to Cotts, Lou!
  5. I'm starting to think we might have been fleeced in the Aardsma deal. It's still too early to make that call, but I have yet to see anything to the contrary... As bad as Cotts has been, Aardsma's doing MUCH worse. I heard the Sox might be about to release him.
  6. Cotts seems to be kinda not good. I hope he doesn't get a spot over Wuertz.
  7. Not bad Agreed. I kind of want him to get the #5 slot at the beginning just so he can hopefully do well for enough games where the Cubs can drum up some real interest and net a sweet return when they trade him.
  8. Felix's pic makes it look like he jumped into and messed up a totally unrelated photo. Thanks for the Gameday!
  9. Hahaha, Piniella has to be one of the least photogenic people ever. He's always doing something stupid. Great for captions. "This is how I smiled when I stole your job." He ain't exactly smiling there. And I offer an apology for the use of "ain't". Looks like he's popping a huge zit. "You gotta tell Bonds that if he keeps doing that damn HGH his head is gonna pop, just like THIS!"
  10. http://d.yimg.com/us.yimg.com/p/rids/20070313/i/r966753859.jpg Now there's an "ow, my groin" shot if I ever saw one.
  11. How could anyone have an actual answer for that? Just sayin'.
  12. I just wish they could talk him down to something like 4 years instead of 5 or more.
  13. I think it was the ugly slide. I doubt he would be taking out in the 2nd inning? I mean like they're just playing it safe because he's a little sore and they have such a big lead as opposed to something serious where he NEEDS to be out ASAP.
  14. Carlos, walking at least 1 batter each inning is BAD. You won't get that Cy Young that way.
  15. I hope Lee is out just because of the huge lead and and not because something bad happened on that ugly slide he had in the 1st.
  16. Yeah...he's had two at bats...one where he singled and drove in two runs and another where he struck out. He's 50% awful!
  17. Am I making this up or didn't he have a monster spring last year, too? Then he showed up in a cold Chicago April, started dressing like a ninja and got kinda not good until it warmed up.
  18. Nobody you say looks like Popeye looks even remotely like Popeye in any form.
  19. Please cut down on the walks, Carlos. With Prior's return very much up in the air, it looks like my dream of trading you for ARod is less likely, so shape it up.
  20. Huh...I'm surprised reading that article that Nevin hasn't been picked up yet. He's a good bench power bat option.
  21. I heard he really hustled his way into his swanky retirement home.
  22. I don't think most of us are worried about his defense (ie-covering the field, catching the ball, getting good reads, etc.) per se...more what he's going to do with the ball once he decides to throw it. I hope his "playing hurt" problem last year is something he can get over since the guy really has a decent arm.
  23. It's not fair to judge him only on 2003 since he was very good in 2004 and 2005 as well.
  24. If they could open the purse strings for guys like Marquis and Lilly, I can't imagine them suddenly getting thrifty over players like ARod if he's available. "What's that? A once in a generation-type player? Oh, man, too bad I lost my wallet..." Bottom line, they'd find the money.
