  1. How come Soriano43985478043757893095347504375043985943078 isn't screaming about Pie's "honeymoon being over?" I'm shocked at his restraint.
  2. It appears that Scott beats up Willie and takes his dessert on a regular basis.
  3. WHERE WAS THIS IN THE FIRST THREE INNINGS, JERKS?!?
  4. Bowen! Ward is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry slow.
  5. [hyperbole]The honeymoon is over for Patterson-clone Felix Pie.[/hyperbole]
  6. Why, so they can rebuild with all new crap? History seems to indicate that anyone new, on any level, accomplishes little with and for this team.
  7. Those lineups are basically the equivalent of mashing two turds against each other.
  8. We need a hitting ANYTHING. It doesn't matter where the hitting comes from, although it was much more rare and difficult to replace when it came from the catcher's position. A good hitter playing a defensive position doesn't make him less valuable, it makes him more valuable. I mean from the perspective that we need to replace Barrett with a catcher who can hit. Well, no, we only have to do that if we can't fix RF and SS, which are much easier to improve offensively.
  9. We don't need Soto or Whatsisface McPadre to be "saviors"...like it was just said, if they can be decent as catchers and not hit as bad as Blanco, they're doing their job. Barrett wasn't a "savior"...I wish this team would focus on fixing the gaping holes in SS and RF so we can stop pretending like a hitting catcher is something we desperately need.
  10. Yeah, I feel that these things can be kind of arbitrary. Is this really arbitrary? Only 5 players have hit 600 or more HR's. Only 5 players had hit more than 599 before last night. I get that we like to keep track of things by tens but it really had no signifigance to me. If he passes Mays at 660, I think that's signifigant. Gotcha. Baseball is full of "records" like this. Throughout the world we look at things by then tens as being more impressive. I still think it's pretty cool. Who knows, 660 could be in reach. Sammy hasn't been great this year, but he's a lot better than some of the scrubs you see other teams marching out there. He could probably play a couple more years, if he wants to. Very true. The DH is a godsend for him now. If he sticks to that, he has a really good shot at getting 660.
  11. What does him being on a horrible team have to do with whether or not he can still hit HR's?
  12. How stupid is Texas if they still want him after this series?

  15. I love that this happened against the Cubs...mainly because it's fitting it's on WGN and was being broadcast all over the country. Well done, Sammy. You're one of the greats.
  16. In all honesty, you're right... How could you even be content if you were a Ranger fan? Run scoring plays: Error by DeRosa GIDP Error by Lee RBI ground out obviously, they're up 4-0, but blech, what horrible ways to score. I'd pee myselfif the Cubs could tie the game up by scoring in all the same ways. I think it is time for this phrase to die. If everybody who said they were peeing themselves actually did it, the world would be soaked in urine. The world IS soaked in urine. Think about it.
  17. He threw that like he was Frankenstein chucking a little girl into a lake.
  18. Shoulda gotten that new kid out there. His bio has the worthless factoid that he won a slam dunk contest in high school, so he probably could have ninja-flipped over Wilkerson.
