  1. CRAP. We need him, especially with the Brewers right rounf the corner. Send Miller packing!
  2. It was funny, the place was still almost totally full by the time Ohamn got the last out. Only the Cubs could keep everyone in sspense with a 8-4 (8-3, bastards!) lead. Sutcliffe was drunker than me. Damn him.
  3. I was at the game, and maybe I am/was too drunk, but this felt like a win once the Cubs took the lead in the 5th or 6th or whenever. I am happy and I will love this team until I die. For the record, it took me a good 10 minutes to type this out. SALUTE MY GRAMMAR.
  4. Heh...if a clone Hendry was on the other end of the deal as well, maybe.
  5. Yup, but luck was on their side in the bottom 9th. Bloop single & routine play made into an error by Matsui, which would've ended the game. Yeah, it was luck, but baseball is filled with errors like that happening to good and bad teams and everyone in between. Then the question arises of whether or not a team can take advantage of those errors. Last night, the Cubs showed they could.
  6. Heh, always good to hear Ron get to go nuts over something going the Cubs' way.
  7. I just saw the replay and I think Howry would have demolished the guy if he made it to him. He was so small he made Howry look even more like a giant and Bob was basically just standing there waiting for him to get to the mound.
  8. I'm going to the game tomorrow. They haven't won any of the games I've gone to this year. If this one goes down the crapper, I'm sorry.
  9. I try to figure out what someone's motive could possibly be to not vote Buck into the HOF, and my brain threatens to implode from the sheer absurdity. I honestly teared up a little when I heard he died knowing that it was before he could voted in. One of the worst sins in the game's history.
  10. Shweet. Now if he can just promise to not have too many games like Sunday's...
  11. um....what? Marquis' suckiness is equivalent to him vomiting his crappy pitching all over the field, so I'm asking him to keep it down this time. D'uh.
  12. Lee's probably gonna miss the Brewers series, right? They gotta take at least 2 of 3 from the Rockies. Plays your butts off, Cubs. Marquis, swallow the suck down for at least one game. Thanks.
  13. That makes sense from what he was describing. I wonder how sick he will get, and if he can keep playing or not. Get better soon Mark. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20070624&content_id=2046554&vkey=news_chc&fext=.jsp&c_id=chc That makes a lot of sense. I had walking pneumonia about 3 years ago and I was like a zombie for a good two weeks.
  14. According to Cubs.com: I knew about the migraine and the eye issues because of it, but the quotes above, to me, make everything sound possibly much more serious. I don't know much about the guy...has he had a history of migraines and related issues? Personally, I'm totally paranoid about head-related medical issues, and I tend to always fear the worse. I never like to hear someone seemingly suddenly get blinding headaches and be really loopy and dazed out of nowhere. Hopefully it's nothing serious and he's better soon. He's no superstar, but he's ended up being a decent signing for the team. I've enjoyed seeing him as a Cub...get better, Mark!
  15. SD and Seattle. Can look at his game log here: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/6612 OK, now I remember the Seattle game...I remember being pissed that he was in for so long. LOOGY or not issue aside, he shouldn't be out there for more than an inning most of the time. On the upside, he's continuing to strikeout guys and his walks are way down, especially if you look at that long outing as an exception. I still think he's doing a LOT better now and I really don't worry seeing him come out. He's definitely not deserving of still being lumped in with Eyre. Eyre has been a lot better than Ohman in June. They are both doing better lately, and they both are still our most questionable relievers (soon to be our 2nd and 3rd most questionable when somebody comes up from the minord on Monday). Yeah, I just looked up Eyre and was suprised at his June numbers. I guess I've just tuned him out when he's come in.
  16. Crap. If the Cubs do anything less than winning that series, the season is likely all but done.

  18. No actually he hasnt been. He has given up 3 runs in his last 4 IP. Wow, really? Which games? I'm asking in all seriousness, because I think I missed them all.
  19. Ohman's been good for a while now. He seems to have righted the ship that was such a disaster earlier. Are you conceding that he exists now?
  20. Glad that Howry's been looking pretty damn good (bad fielding in Texas aside) his last several appearances. I wonder if they thought about trying Marmol in the role.
  21. All the talk I've heard is that he'll likely miss his games after that series.
