  1. Damn Soriano has some hops! Derosa is a nut. THey showed video of him umm behind Aram in the dugout goin crazy. If anyone finds a bigger version of the last pic, please post it. That's THE desktop wallpaper now!
  2. It was really impressive how they stayed in it after that disaster of a 1st inning. Even Hill held on for those next two innings and kept the Brewers away from socring more. What a fight!
  3. I was completely speechless...after what I already talked about in the game thread: I know my plans this Sunday. I'll be sure to go before the game so Marquis gets all the help he can get.
  4. well...we know where you are going to be on sunday morning Seriously. If you don't hold up your end, and the Cubs don't win the World Series, we'll know why. I'm going, I'm going! The Man came through!
  5. Keep it comin'! YOU OWE US! by "church" i assume you meant "pub that serves perfectly chilled guinness" Actually, there's one right down the street, so it'll be a perfect ying and yang type of deal.
  6. Keep it comin'! YOU OWE US! I'm getting my church on every week from here on out, so they better keep this up!
  7. well...we know where you are going to be on sunday morning Seriously...I feel like I'd be tempting something really bad if I didn't.
  8. When Lee was up to bat, I said, out loud, "OK God, if the Cubs win this, I promise I will go to the church down the street every week so long as I live here." Well played, God. Well played...
  9. Not sure it was intentional but I remember it happening in either Game 1 or 2 of the 1984 World Series. I think Todd Hundley did it when he was a cub if memory serves me correctly. The only good thing he ever did.
  10. Who do you guys think gets called up for bullpen help?
  11. Jeez, Pie watches borderline strike 3 pitches waaaaay too much. Gotta work on that.
  12. If anyone could explain what the hell was wrong with him besides just being insane, I'll give them a million dollars. I don't want anyone to get defensive...I'm just asking questions. sometimes good pitchers just go into slumps. Batters do the same thing. I'm not sure why everyone assumes that a pitcher is hurt or mentally weak just because he has a string of poor starts. Where did I say he was "mentally weak?" I don't think it's crazy to be worried about Cubs pitchers getting hurt. If he's not, fantastic. I'm just tossing it out there because we've seen this happen all too often in recent years.

  14. No he's been pretty solid and I don't think he's showing any signs of injury. I'm just more concerned with the fact that when he doesn't have good command of his breaking ball or it isn't extremely sharp, he has nothing to fall back on. You do realize his start before the last is when SD took batting practice off him right? Yeah but his 5 starts surrounding that one were solid. Nobody can ignore that...I'm just worried that since his struggling seems to be in consecutive starts that there might be some unusual pain or discomfort going on. I'm not trying to pick further fights, just thinking out loud... This start wasn't nearly as bad as the San Diego one. Those guys had to have been stealing signs, or Rich had to have been tipping his pitches. This one was a perfect storm start. Froemming wouldn't give him anything, he didn't have his best stuff, and Floyd killed him with his glove. I hope so. Like I said, he showed some of his usual stuff in the middle of the White Sox game, so all I want is for him to bounce back from this.
