  1. Theriot is not impatient. He just isnt a good hitter yet. It is not impatient when you take the first pitch down the middle, take the 2nd pitch down the middle, then are forced to hit the 3rd pitch down the middle or you'd strike out. They know he is not a power threat so they give him lots of pitches to hit, but if you have 2 strikes you need to swing at the 3rd one. You do realize that Theriot is almost 4 years older than Cedeno, right? Why would you put more faith in the guy closer to 30 with career mediocre minor league numbers in terms of drastically improving and not in the guy who is much younger and has shown he can put up great minor league numbers?
  2. This bra-bomb of yours better work, Nerdlinger.
  3. Overreaction much???? I stated this topic was long, and not relevant, because there are ZERO facts that the Padres/Cubs are considering this. So people are gonna rant and rave about Pie now, instead of discussing a trade or substantial trade rumors. Some of us visit threads just to look at the news and see whats going on. So when a thread is 150 pages with 149 being garbage and arguments on what prospect is better for what team.......it ruins the fact for some of us that don't wanna be on NSBB for 30 min. So, in your frustration over a "cluttered" thread....you're going to clutter it up some more?
  4. Why do people here keep slamming people on other team's boards as if they're saying these things just to mess wih us? Some of us are WAY too wound up over this. I'm agreeing with you a lot. Watch out, though. Someone is going to call you out for coming to the defense of the insiders. I have no knowledge of who is who on the Orioles board except for what was posted earlier in this thread. I will point out though, that the only labeled insider talking about the Cubs and Roberts during this whole thread on Bedard appears to be a new poster to the Orioles board with a supposed Cubs source whose veracity is openly questioned on the board. Link to Orioles Hangout Insider Re-cap. Their board has been a joke as far as inside information. According to them, Roberts was traded to the Cubs weeks ago. LOLERZ YEAH!!!!11!!!

  6. Exactly. They've called a few things right before, so it gives some hope. If they are wrong, who cares? Beats talking about how bad Theriot is for the entire offseason... No, no, long threads and rumors apparenly break into some posters' homes at night, kill their pets and steal their valuables. Clearly, it's a horrible thing to have to deal with long threads and rumors in a slow offseason. God forbid, right? I feel so bad that everyone has to put up with it...such an ordeal! HORRIBLE. Thank God they can complain about how long a thread is...by posting in it and making it longer! YEEHAW!
  7. Dear Lord, who cares how long a thread is? Especially when they end up inflated due to people pointlessly commenting on how long the thread is? I feel bad for all the people who bravely come to these threads, even if multiple thread pages apparently crashes their computer or slashes their tires or gives them cancer.
  8. It would be trading from areas of depth to fill a tremendous hole. Murton will be a little used 4th outfielder, Cedeno would no longer be needed with Greene, Patterson is lost on the depth chart with Pie and Colvin, and Marshall would likely be battling Lieber, Gallagher and others for the last rotation spot. Khalil Greene on the road in 2007: .288 .322 .519 .840 Khalil Greene on the road career: .280 .335 .515 .850 Remembering that Greene plays most of his games in the toughest hitter's park in baseball and the toughest hitting division in MLB and that the NL Central is arguably the best hitter's division in baseball, the numbers Green could put up playing for the Cubs in a very solid line up all the way through could REALLY pump his numbers up. If you add Greene's bat (ignore the great defense he plays for a moment) to the Cubs line up, the Cubs have Soriano, Lee, Ramirez and Greene with the potential to have .500+ SLG and Fukudome, Pie, DeRosa and Soto all with the potential of mid to high .400 SLG. Soriano, DeRosa, Lee, Ramirez, Fukudome, Greene, Pie, Soto And wow, what a stellar defense the SP's would have behind them. It's a lot to give up for Greene, but none of those guys are someone who turns me off such a deal. Please bronze this post and then hang it high surrounded by naked neon ladies.
  9. the Wrigleyville residents are like the world's worst Homeowner's Association times a million Their neighborhood is special only because of Wrigley, yet they act like it's the worst thing in the world.
  10. Bah. I'm sick of Wrigleyville. Buy up the land where Cabrini is and build a new stadium there, please. I could use the property value bump.
  11. I think speed impacts the pitchers plenty. Lord knows they take enough of the stuff.
  12. Is a strikeout somehow worse than a different kind of out? Greene's away splits show he would be almost certain to rake in Wrigley, power-wise, something would help this team drastically. He's also an excellent fielder, something this team can also really use at SS.
  13. Wow, Eyre's 2nd half numbers are really impressive.
  14. Who was ever suggesting just Cedeno as the main piece of the trade? I should rephrase my position. The Padres are a contending team with a weak offense. Their starting shortstop would likely be Cedeno if Greene gets traded to the Cubs. I don't think they want to open the season with him any more than we do. Agreed. The Cubs would have to either really wow them with the other parts of the deal or at least involve another team.
  15. Who was ever suggesting just Cedeno as the main piece of the trade?
  16. That would imply the Padres were actually wanted to trade Greene. True, it's a jump, but given hi refusal to extend his contract and their desire for Murton, it does beg the question. Obviously, Murton wouldn't get the deal done alone. Maybe throw in Patterson and Cedeno as well? I'd let em have Theriot if they wanted him instead of Cedeno. And I would probably give up Gallagher too. Nobody in their right-non-Cub-Mind wants Theriot except maybe as the 11th man in an 11 man deal.

  18. Your moms all homered in my pants last night.
  19. There's no excuse for this if the Padres want Murton and Greene can be had. None. Forget Byrd, forget Bedard...trade for Roberts and Greene, sign Lofton, trade for Burnett. Man, I wish this was a video game and not real life.
  20. If they are interested in Murton doesn't a deal that nets us Greene make a lot of sense? Oh man, now THIS makes sense. If we're gonna move Murton, do it for someone truly useful like Khalil, not freakin' Byrd. Please make this happen. Toss in Cedeno and another prospect if need be, but get it done.
  21. Though it's doubtful we'd get that upgrade without giving up Hill, thus pretty much negating any upgrade.
  22. Neither. The White Sox's shorts damaged the game more.
