  1. Bill Murray should always do it.
  2. Haven't they supposedly been trying hard to trade Marquis for months now? Just release him and be done with it. Nobody wants to give up players for that hump and his bag of money.
  3. It's frustrating to see yet another game where the bullpen does its job and locks down the game and the bats can do absolutely nothing in a juice box of a park against a craptacular pitcher.
  4. The Cubs don't have a leadoff problem.
  5. I enjoy fun. Nice.
  6. I don't know, I love them both so much. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i101/augustine1014/station.jpg OH, WAIT! WINNAR IS ME. http://www.billandted.org/pics/bj/bjstation2.jpg
  7. The "O" tricked me with it's pseudo-Q-ness. God, it's all the way over on the keyboard. I suck.
  8. QFMFT. Classic Pedro can't be touched. Watching him pitch in those days is the closest I'll ever come to seeing a real life superhero.
  9. I would say you are wrong. Golden era Pedro is just disgustingly better than anything ever.
  10. If you can barely hit Chris Sampson, sorry, you deserve to lose that game.
  11. BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAH! Fontenot.
  12. I hate the Cubs losing, but I do love Valverde's insanity.
  13. Edmonds chance of redemption is coming up on the 9th. If he screws that up, any grace period he had is done.
  14. That would make too much sense. And split up those precious, precious lefties waaaaaaaay too far. Good thinkin', Loucifer. Ascaino looks badass on the mound.
  15. You know what would be awesome right now? Having a #5 hitter with some real power.
  16. OK, late '90's-present. Except the oldest signing you have on here is from 2001 (DeShields...who is a huge stretch to be called a star). The Cubs have done this for their entire history, players like Rick Aguilera in 1999 all the way back to guys like Rogers Hornsby and Dizzy Dean in the 30's. Rajah and Dizzy played several years for the Cubs. They were more Mike Morgan/Henry Rodriguez types. Jimmy Foxx would be more properly lumped with this group. So there's a timeframe in terms of how long they play for the team?
  17. So it's only been since the "Sosa years" that they've been doing these kind of signings? Come on.
  18. It's awesome I know exactly what this thread is about thanks to the helpful title and then the leadoff post. Oh, wait.
