  1. Fuku deems running to 1st base as beneath him. STAND ASIDE, PEONS.
  2. I think Fuku willed that 3rd ball out of the zone with his death stare.
  3. I am liking the new Ryan "Hey, I've been good for more than a month" Theriot.
  4. Soto has the goofiest run on the team, by far. He does this dainty, T-Rex thing with his arms that is hysterical.
  5. Why don't you go ask them nicely to turn them down, or better yet, off? because i actually know whose room it's coming from now. I'd just rather not deal with this guy. It's th same guy i've had problems with in the past thanks to his inability to turn off an alarm clock in less than 30 minutes after it begins going BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP....I don't even want to deal with it. Going to 3 different colleges when I was younger, I can assure you that that guy is in every dorm, on every floor. I do not understand at all how people can live with awful alarms going on for anything longer than a minute. I also like "I just downloaded a song I love and I'm gonna play it blasting on loop for at least a hour"-guy.
  6. Soriano has pointing the way to victory a lot lately. Me likee.
  7. A new park isn't necessay for the Marlins? In what dimension? It has a horrible location, it's not designed at all for baseball and it's brutal sitting there for 3 hours or more in the Florida weather. Contrary to current attendance, they do have a reasonably strong fanbase down there.
  8. No, that can't be it, that would mean he was thinking and if you new this kid nobody has ever accused him of thinking Oh ya, he plays the offensive line in football, should explain thing I think the pot is calling the kettle a lot of things.
  9. Yes, because it's a hideously bad song.
  10. Well, I stand corrected. I was unfairly assuming Fontenot sucked.
  11. PECOTA projects fontenot to be more productive than cedeno offensively. Really? Damn. Are you sure it wasn't actually just Bill Pecota going bonkers? Well, still, it flies in the face of Lou's "playing the hot hand" BS. Outside of like 2 games, Cedeno easily has had the much "hotter hand." no. BP's site is down right now but i can look at their 2008 projections in the book. Ronny Cedeno: 278/326/422, .251 EqA, 13.3 VORP Fontenot: 282/357/431, .267 EqA, 15.4 VORP i know it might come as a shock since he's a small white guy, but fontenot has always been able to hit (291/362/437/799 minor league numbers). plus he doesn't have a disastrous full season under his belt at the major league level, so it's no surprise that PECOTA favors him. and lost in the forest of cedeno love/fontenot hate is the fact that fontenot has been productive when he's played this year (276/391/448) Wow. I really guess I just assumed he had played like and was projected as another Theriot.
  12. Fair enough. But is Fontenot really that much better a option? I'm stunned by those projections.
  13. Thanks for the behind the scenes stuff, pc! We're all pulling for Sean!

  15. Considering his first MLB start was against arguably the best team in baseball at the last minute, I think that's a pretty damn promising debut for him. Congrats to SG and his family!
  16. Give Soto a day off and start Cedeno at SS, please.
  17. Shweet! Lou annoys the hell out of me, but this is a kickass decision.
  18. I don't know where you can find the montage, sine they always get yanked off YouTube, but the song was Silverchair's (yes, them) "Straight Lines."
  19. This is a good point. No sense in wasting a bench player when you have a good pinch runner in Marquis (and should he get hurt, it's no great loss). plus there is the outside chance that marquis will hurt himself. all in all, a lot of positives here. I'd actually rather him not get hurt...there's still the chance we can deal him at the deadline if he's healthy and hasn't hit one of his horrible months yet. Too late. Lou being "better" than Dusty is like how getting a D+ or a C- is technically better than getting an F. I am baffled as to why Fontenot remians the goto guy first off the bench in situations where Cedeno would be infinitely better offensively and defensively.
  20. Friday: Cubs win with Lilly struggling prior to game Saturday: Cubs come from behind to win, bring Marmol in to shut the door. Cubs up 2-0. Sunday: Ace (big Z) on the mound against a 41 yr old pitcher. Good odds there. Cant say I blame Lou. He is rolling the dice abit, but its a good gamble. You'd rather gamble that today's game is a blowout against the best team in baseball and Marmol won't be needed than gamble that Fox/Wuertz/Howry could protect a five-run lead in one inning? That's not a good gamble; it is, in fact, an incredibly short-sighted one. all 3 of those pitchers have struggled MIGHTILY, so yea, I'd rather take my chances with Z "MIGHTILY" to the point that they're likely right now to give up 5+ runs? Come on.
  21. What a waste of amazing talent. Forever depressing.
  22. Hail Satan. Lou is a weird, weird guy.
  23. best line ever One of the best terrible movies ever.
