  1. omgomgomgomg you got burgers???? I had sorrow Sliders tonight. Holy isht, a run. Holy isht, I've got the runs.
  2. I'd argue that Aramis completely shutting down is FAR more crippling than Sori's struggles.
  3. That's how I feel about the entire playoffs. Almost, I didn't quite manage to remove all emotional investment, but I came pretty close and I'm just a little annoyed instead of outright depressed. Yeah. I went into this excited but apprehensive until they could show me that this team could win at least a game in the postseason. Getting swept is ironically easier for to deal with since I looked at this so guardedly. Is "guardedly" even a word?
  4. Crush it.
  5. I've got a a weirdly optimistic vibe about this game and the rest of the series after dreading going into the first two. I hope I'm psychic.
  6. Zambrano looked great to me until we decided catching the ball was no longer a priority. To me he did well, it was the rest of the infield that let him down. Pretty hard to pitch like an all-star after an all-time crapfest like that. I got home after the 2nd inning shindig last night and hearing the score I fully assumed it was Z's fault. Sorry, Z.
  7. 2003 and 2004 felt like death. With both seasons, I was going nuts waiting for news and updates by the time catchers and pitchers reported for the next go-around. This season certainly isn't going to change that for me.
  8. Soriano IS the Legend of the Hidden Temple.
  9. Ironic.
  10. I think this makes more sense than those who are claiming this team isn't motivated enough or they don't care. Agreed. I think the claims they look like they don't care or "asleep" out there don't make any sense. They look too stressed and almost oddly terrified of the spot their in.
  11. We're one of the biggest markets in baseball. Just seems to me it's a given the press is involved. Of course, but specifically criticizing the players through the press when you're the manager strikes me as pointless. If you have something to say to the player, say it to the player. Playing the press game just seems redundant.
  12. I didn't watch Game 3 last year. Just monitor it on the internet and flip it on if something good might be happening. Haha, you do this too? For last year's game 3 I was at a wedding in Ohio and was able to mostly ignore it and get plastered thanks to a fancy-shamncy open bar. The only downside was having to be all suited up in freakish temperatures pushing 100 degrees.
  13. This isn't Lou "yelling at the players." This is Lou stammering and babbling to the press. Going off on the players TO the players themselves is one thing, but this is just silly.
  14. Dusty Baker hugs or Lou holding the players accountable? I'll take Lou's approach any day. This team looks mezmerized, scared, or something. Lou's only hope is to light a fire under this teams butt. We can win 3 in a row against the Dodgers. If the only way to get that fire in a players eye is to call him out, I'm all for giving it a shot. We don't have much time. Hey Lou! Lee could use a swift kick to the butt while you're at it! Light a fire under their butts? Are you actually suggesting that they need motivation to win this series? Yell at the right times, and it can be extremely effective. Yell at the wrong times, and you risk losing your grip on the players. Well if Lou has proven anything its that he knows when to yell and when not. Everytime he has exploded with this team they have responded by winning. Its been Lou's signature all his managing career so I think I'll trust that he is yelling at the right time. Yeah, those Mariners teams sure set the world on fire in the postseason. This deserves to be dragged out of the politics thread: http://www.mikepirone.com/albums/People/grandpa_simpson_yelling_at_cloud_001.jpg Same effect. This might as well have been called, "Lou to Soriano: FLIM-FLAM-FLOOM HIBBETY-JIBBETY FASHOONK!"
  15. I'll bet Lou really hopes the mysterious gunman that forced him to play Fukudome #2 in the lineup in game 1 is brought to justice.
  16. Wow, I got home from class missing the first two innings and saw the score and just assumed that Zambrano had imploded.
  17. Why, can he pitch? Huh??? Bringing up Micah implies that his bat could possibly "save" this team. While the extra offense could help, the biggest problem is the Cubs' pitching giving up an assload of runs. Micah can't do anything about that.
  18. You do, and you'll clean it up !! Oh man, I'd probably be passed out afterwards. Just roll me on top of it.
  19. I hate it, but I've had a horrible feeling about this game for a couple days now. I hope I'm wrong.
  20. He's been on better teams which have lost in the playoffs before. The guy can do his fair share of damage, but I wouldn't freak out over his presence on the Dodgers. Exactly. Manny is a great player, and the team around him can be pretty good, but neither he nor they are "scary" to me. They could beat the Cubs, but the Cubs really have no excuse not to beat them.
