  1. If this goes to extras, I'll be pissed. END THIS, FOOLS.
  2. DeRo seemed to be walking fine...hopefully they're just being smart and playing it safe due to soreness from a funky slide.
  3. He started game 7 of the NLCS in 2006 and went 6 innings giving up 1 run. I guess that's where it comes from?? They didn't even win that game. Oliver Perez has a worse ERA+ than any of the 9 pitchers who have started a game for the Cubs this year. He also has a knack for coming up with big outings against some tough opponents (Philly, Yankees) and then crapping the bed against weak teams (Washington, Pittsburgh). It's more about his inconsistenct but occasional dominance than any one big playoff game (he's only pitched in 2 in his career). SEND OUT THE SCRUBS TONIGHT!
  4. Aside from the fact that not once in his career has Eckstein ever gotten on base as frequently as Theriot has this year, you're totally right! How do they compare speed-wise and defensively?
  5. Me. I was also on the Dierker bandwagon, and whastsisface who went to the Marlins, but I definitely preferred Lou to Girardi (who I didn't want at all).
  6. Theriot's year has mostly been a pleasant surprise, but I still hope that the team isn't assuming SS is taken care of for 2009. Upgrade-upgrade-upgrade.
  7. He's Juan Pierre minus the speed plus the "ability" for his groundballs to find gaps in the infield.
  8. Didn't compare to last year or 2003.
  9. The Nigh Mets are my favorite squadron.
  10. Berkman is just mad that the camera caught him wetting his pants and scurrying to the dugout because of the thunder. I love that he threw off his chain, too. And you didn't "play through" the storm, Lance. He's such a douche. What he said is absolutely accurate. If the Cubs were in the same position as the Astros many people who post here would be whining like a 6 year old. What throws the spanner ino the works of him and the other players complaining is their own owner doing as much as possible to ultimately screw them over and not working with the MLB to get the games somewhere more "neutral."
  11. Yeah, his grandmother should die more often.

  13. It's a really fun pub-style singalong. Pretty cool. This is the kind of thing that can last as a favorite.
  14. Can we reactivate the facial hair bet and apply it to the WS?
  15. The Reigning Sound? Len just got even more awesome.
  16. Thanks Len. The only down thing about today was not being able to hear Bob and you give the final call. Tim McCarver is just awful. This. Agreed. No Len after September = no good. Thanks for all the great calls this year, Len. Hope to hear many more.
  17. Awesome game to be at. Shelled out 30 bucks for a t-shirt outside, about to head to the Twin Anhors for celebratory beers and ribs.
  18. Even Marquis?
  19. Poor Pie.
  20. Sweet, I scored a primo ticket. Do this, Madman Muntz.
  21. FTH?!?
  22. Why not give Fuku starts after the clinch? That seems to make much more sense than running old man Edmonds out there outside of a few stretch starts.
