He started game 7 of the NLCS in 2006 and went 6 innings giving up 1 run. I guess that's where it comes from?? They didn't even win that game. Oliver Perez has a worse ERA+ than any of the 9 pitchers who have started a game for the Cubs this year. He also has a knack for coming up with big outings against some tough opponents (Philly, Yankees) and then crapping the bed against weak teams (Washington, Pittsburgh). It's more about his inconsistenct but occasional dominance than any one big playoff game (he's only pitched in 2 in his career). SEND OUT THE SCRUBS TONIGHT!
