The biggest factor that whill determine the success or failures of the bullpen is Lou. This is by no means an ideal bullpen, but it is certainly serviceable yet Lou stubbornly and inexplicably keeps shooting himself in the foot. The smartest thing would be to keep Gregg as the closer and adjust accordingly depending on how tight the game is and who the Cubs are playing. The smartest thing to do would be to make Guzman and Marshall the go to guys to put out fires. The smartest thing to do would be to only use Heilman to start an inning and never with runners on. The smartest thing to do would be to minimize using Marmol in high leverage situations for the time being. All of these things are perfectly doable, yet are tremendously unlikely to occur as reguarly as they should because of Lou.

It's not even that, it's a joke. So the team that wouldn't consider signing Adam Dunn to play terrible OF defense thinks they can get away with Fox's horrific defense at 2nd base? It really is mind boggling how some people are assuming that Fox continuing anything even remotely close to his current offensive protection while playing a totally new position is somehow likely.

Do you even follow baseball? Go look at their stats and their contracts and try and type this sentence again with a straight face. Gregg has an ERA under 4 and he kicked ass in June and July. Suddenly he has two bad games and all this kneejerk [expletive] comes out. People like you are an embarrassment to our fan base. Try and stay level for at least one day, please. IMB! spittin fire! :clapping: I find it amusing that someone like IMB is calling ME an embarrassment. Find a mirror, pal. Actually, IMB! is a pretty intelligent guy when it comes to baseball. I enjoy reading his input in sports topics. And most of the time he's not talking about sports he's hilarious and obviously tongue-in-cheek. Note how erik completely ignored the point that was made. -

I think it's the lack of range/arm as a SS and his consistent lackluster base running everyone doesn't like. He's a decent hitter, yes, but isn't a very good SS and is just dumb on the bath paths. Pretty much. -

What did Nunez do? I missed the game. Top of the 10th he ran over to cover 1st on a Hill grounder and Hill brushed him as he ran past the bag. Nunez then proceeded to stare down Hill as everyone went to their dugouts.
