  1. Man, who was knocking that? I'd much rather have Miguel than Aramis.
  2. Aramis is [expletive] horrible so far.
  3. Well, he did give up a hit for that 2nd one. He wanted to generously share the blame.
  4. Great snag along the foul line for Aramis. Carlos Lee getting robbed today. Oh wow, that was stupid.
  5. No, I don't think he should be booed as much as he is, but I certainly understand why it happens. If you can't figure that out, I think there must be something wrong with you. Wait, what? Of course everyone knows why it's happening. The point is that it's stupid to get on a guy every single game when he hasn't even done anything remotely "bad" in that game. It's not "understandable;" it's stupid scapegoating that makes the fans look dumb. Even the best players are going to make outs, so getting on a guy for simply making the 3rd out in the 2nd inning of a 0-0 game when nobody else had gotten a hit to that point is ridiculous.
  6. Old Style, are you arguing that booing him every time he makes an out or someone has a hit to LF regardless of the circumstances is a good thing? What is the point of booing him today when he hasn't done anything even remotely boo-worthy?
  7. Earn his paycheck? Sure, but it's beyond moronic to single him out when he strikes out when nobody else on the team has a [expletive] hit. Because the fans are booing him based off that one at bat? They're booing him every time he makes an out regardless of what else he's done in the game or what anyone else has done. It's stupid.

  9. Carlos Lee knocked a rope that woulda hit the wall except Soriano snagged it with a jump catch going back.
  10. Sorta scared that Carlos Lee's love of Wrigley will wake him up.
  11. Shut up, Lou. Ugh, I can't wait until he's gone.
  12. Oh, I completely agree. I want the two of them switched ASAP.
  13. There's no argument over it here. Just consensus over Lee's amazing ass.
  14. Not necessarily perfect, just don't walk anybody. Then again, Lou hasn't exactly been consistent with his first impressions. I'm pretty sure Grabow walked the first guy he saw as a Cub yet he maintained a relatively safe position ever since (at least until now). You can give up hits and he won't kill you, see Howry. And for some reason Samardzija keeps getting chance after chance despite sucking hard (although I don't believe he walked the first guy he saw). The common line between Grabow and Howry is that Lou always seems to have some veteran he inexplicably trusts too much in the bullpen regardless of how bad they stink. Their "veteran-ness" wins out with him. I have little doubt that Hendry has at least implied very strongly that Shark needs to get innings, and Lou's response seems to be as petulant about it as possible to the point of putting him out there at the wrong times and leaving him out there too long.
  15. Well, therein lies the problem. He basically HAS to be perfect his first outing.
  16. Nothing disturbing about recognizing perfection.
